Chins N Hedgies has partnered with Inventry, and we wanted to share this with the community.

This one has nothing to do with chinchillas or hedgehogs, but it's something we think you'll appreciate. If something happened to your home tomorrow, would you be able to tell your insurance company exactly what you lost and what it was all worth? Your electronics, your jewelry, your collectibles, your cameras, the things that actually matter. Most of us couldn't answer that. And that's a problem nobody thinks about until it's too late.

The team behind Inventry had the same problem. They couldn't find an app they trusted because none of them offered real encryption. Not marketing encryption. 1Password level encryption. So they built their own. Everything is encrypted on your device before it ever leaves. They can't see your data. Nobody can. Only you and whoever you choose to share it with.

We started using it ourselves and that's how the partnership happened.

📸 Snap a photo and the AI identifies it and fills in the details
🧭 Scan receipts and it logs price, vendor, and date automatically
🔒 End to end encrypted. Zero knowledge. Your data never leaves your control.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Share vaults with family so they know what you have and what it's worth
📎 One tap insurance report with photos, serial numbers, and values

Electronics, jewelry, collectibles, cameras, watches, art. One app for all of it.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.

It's hard to say how secure this app is, but after going on their website, I don't think it's an actual scam.

Since none of the big app reviewing sites have Inventry it on their radar, it may be pretty new and not widely known or used. Likelihood is Chins & Hedgies is trying to drum up some business for the app, and if people on their C&H's email list click through or subscribe to the app, Inventry kicks them back a little bit.

The app they're marketing isn't a terrible idea, but there are other ways to accomplish roughly the same thing.

Every year or so I spend a few minutes photographing the interior of my home: kitchen, living rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, the insides of my china & crystal cabinets, appliance cabinets, garage cabinets, and so forth. It literally takes no longer than ten minutes. Then I email the photos to myself.

Voila - time and date stamped photographic documentation accessible from two clouds.
