Grab Bag Ideas

I stopped participating with those silly office things years ago. Buy garbage... and get garbage in return. No one really likes what they get in a grab bag.

I know. Last year a woman in our Bible Study group put in a lovely angel figurine with a silk gown and got back a set of plastic measuring spoons.

Five dollars don't buy much nowadays, I'd just go to a dollar store if there's one around, and get some cheap hair ribbons, lotions, etc.

A cheap pint of gin? I know that this was for the ladies but I got in touch with my feminine side and this is what I came up with... :eek:nthego:

Things people can always use.....a nice pen, mini purse size photo album for showing off grandbaby pics, a purse size mirror in a case, a cosmetic bag, a mini box of GOOD chocolate.....these are some that come to my mind.

I hate it when someone gives me lottery tickets. It is like opening a gift to find nothing inside, as far as I am concerned. The lottery tickets are never worth anything; so just about any other kind of gift would have been better, ito my way of thinking. If you don't want to give a gift; get a $5 gift card for Amazon or Walmart. At least people can use those for something that is meaningful to them.
As far as a grab-bag gift; there are usually some cheaper items in Walmart, or the Dollar Store that are fine to give. Truthfully, I have no practical use for an angel figurine; so to me, the set of measuring spoons was the better part of that exchange. I use measuring spoons all of the time, and an extra set is not a problem; although I can't see that costing anywhere close to $5.
