Grandkids were so helpful yesterday

Dave and Lily were so helpful yesterday. They came over and helped us put plants in the greenhouse and also rake leaves. They were quite cheerful about it. I pitched in with the leaves. My daughter fussed at me about that, but I told her I'm not the kind of foreman who stands by without pitching in! Nor do I lead from behind. She responded, "But they're teenagers! and you're not!" Of course, after they left I fell asleep in the recliner. Because we'd been to Walmart AND Sam's that morning. At the end of the day, my watch told me I'd walked 4.5 miles. A good, but tiring, day.

I find it interesting when adult children are paternalistic with their parents. Most people want to remain independent, but adult children don't seem to realize they are not parents to their parents. It's lovely of your grandchildren to help out.
