Grandpa's coca cola - a difference

I remember those coke machines! Never been a real soda drinker but I did love the flavored fountain cokes once in a while! They weren't as fizzy and came in vanilla, chocolate and cherry.

The neat thing about some of the old Coke bottles is they had the name of the city where it was bottled embossed in the glass on the bottom.
Here's one from Dalton, GA. I'm amazed at how many different cities Coke was bottled in. (Not mine)

We used to get really excited when we'd get a bottle that had an "exotic" city on it......exotic being anything more interesting than our burg, not that that was too hard to find....

Loved those little five cent bottles that would come out of the machine so cold they'd have ice crystals in them. Yum.

Anyone remember the tiny wax bottles with flavored water inside? I think you were supposed to be able to chew them like gum after you emptied the bottle, but that part never worked for me.

Let's not forget that great great Grandpa's Coca Cola was the BEST...cocaine:eek:nthego:

You beat me to it, Fur. There was cocaine in grandpa's Coke. That's where it got the name. My grandaunt,(born in 1903) who was a nurses aide told me this one. So Gramps was getting high.
