Great Cagney Movie

I just saw "White Heat" again. Those old movies really show changing times. Every time I see a phone with a dial, a pay phone, those '40's cars & those police cars with a phone connected to a wire, it's really a gas. And those baggy dress slacks. And REAL acting talent, so the movie doesn't have to rely on blood, gore & special effects.

I like watching the old movies and record them from the TCM channel. I like watching them more than my husband does but he'll watch them with me from time to time. I love the old b/w movies. My favorite is Bogart and Bette Davis. I favor the mob/crime movies. I don't know if the acting is so great back then but I won't argue about it. I'm used to bad acting, I watch the Hallmark channel sometimes. :giggle::cool::p

The Cagney movie that I remember is when he sang
"I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy", I remember the song,
but not too much of the film.

Mike.

One of my all-time favorite movies. How about the guy in the trunk of the car? "I need some air, Cody, I can't breath", and Cody accommodates him. Or Big Ed at the top of the staircase? Haha

I've seen it more times than I can remember but not lately.

Another great Cagney gem: "Angels With Dirty Faces."

Bette Davis is one my favorites, too.
"The Nanny"
"Phone Call From a Stranger"
"Dead Ringer"
"Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" (she & Joan Crawford hated each other & that was the only movie they did together.) In an interview after Joan Crawford died, Bette was asked why they hated each other. She replied, "You should never say anything bad about someone who's dead; you should only say good things. It's a good thing she's dead."
