Great Pyramid Dicovery

It seems to me that with the technology we have these days it would be a simple matter to map out the entire pyramid and what is inside. I do find this type of stuff intriguing though.

I think finding that room is cool. And I can understand why Egyptian authorities are reluctant to allow destructive practices on antiquities. Plus, there's half assed repairs to monuments from the 1920s, that wound up causing deterioration.
Yeah, the Soviet Aswan Dam project pretty much put paid to the cyclic flooding of the Nile. The U.S. was approached initially. They begged off. Leaving the Soviets to grab the brass ring. Completion of the project contributed to the theory of accelerated deterioration of the lower Nile antiquities. E.G., the dry sand getting dryer and providing a less firm base for support. If that's possible? So, can understand Egyptian antiquities being a bit hesitant about any further mucking about.

Good to read there is a co-operative effort in place for further intensive non-destructive investigation. Personally, think there is still a lot to unpack regarding ancient Egypt and how all these antiquities came to be.
