Great Quote - Albert Einstein

That's like blaming the police for the increase in crime. The broken system is what causes crime rates to rise and people to become homeless. We need to make the system more equitable for all instead of just to benefit the rich. Only then will crime rates get back under control.
Chesa, is that you? Probably not. The role of the police and District Attorney is to enforce the law as it exists -- a law that has been defined by the duly elected representatives of the people. If the people wish to excuse crime by those who are poor or out of work, then so be it, but change the law. In any event, this discussion is beginning to verge on the political. I suggest we end it here.

In my book stealing and murder are both evil, but that does not mean that I must somehow equate the two. I do not, and neither does our legal system. What specifically does that have to do with this discussion?
In an earlier post (#8) I was making a distinction between the spiritual concepts concepts of good and evil versus the secular concepts of right and wrong. Law deals with right and wrong, religion and philosophy with good and evil.

Sorry if I muddied the waters of this thread.
