Grey Haired People

Actually it apparently IS true...it's been going on for a few years now..I've certainly had my fair share of guys 20 plus years younger hitting on me...and I remember reading about this phenomena in the media a while back. Apparently older woman are called cougars by younger men...and this link here gives you an insight into why we're being hunted..apparently..

I do not know that it is new. When I was in my 30's, teen-agers would hit on me. My son's thought telling them I was their mother, not their sister, funny. As adults, they told me once, do you think our friends always hung out at our house because of your cookies? They all had crushes on you. Even now, I have the same experiences as you Holly. I laugh and think..."No, I am not going to fulfill your older woman fantasy".

I skimmed this but I'm not convinced. Yes, I get hit on by younger men. (By "younger men" I mean men who look more than @5 years younger than I am.) I would never take it seriously. And I DETEST, LOATHE, and DESPISE the term "cougar".

Now THAT pisses me off!! How dare any young stud try and spoil our Holly!!!!

Actually, I believe cougars are usually thought to be 40+ ish women going after the 20 year olds. Once you hit 60 you are far too old to be a cougar... Sorry for any Bubble bursting here.. lol!!

Here's the breakdown

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Feline+Scale

Age 0-12: Housecat
Age 13-17: Bobcat
Age 18-21: Wildcat
Age 22-29: Lynx
Age 30-39: Puma
Age 40-49: Cougar
Age 50-59: Jaguar
Age 60-68: Panther
Age 69: Pussycat
Age 70-79: Cheetah
Age 80-89: Leopard
Age 90-99: Tiger
Age 100+: Lion

Since I just turned 64, that would make me a panther. Don't much care for that either but if I make it to 100, I'll gladly accept being called a lion. Thanks for the clarification, QS! :)

I had dinner with a fellow "grey lady" last night. She was telling me that older women are now in vogue.. I think she meant younger men are "into" a more "mature" woman.. I find that hard to believe, but she swears she has young guys hitting on her all the time. I don't know exactly where she goes for that to happen.. but she swears it's true.. She's a nice looking lady.. but she is STILL 66.. and grey.. Anyone else here fighting off hoards of young whippersnappers?

Yes I do, but so busy thinking about other things do not notice, I also do not do diapers is my moto. PS do not have a bank thing for them to get at . Also Im a Computer person and do not get that your dumb look.

I remember when I was doing bedside nursing. There was a really young doctor who would go into a seniors room and literally shout at them. One little old lady told him to stop... she was sick, but she wasn't deaf. I had to laugh.. So many assumptions are made about the elderly.

well that list makes me a Jaguar  ...hmmmm, well in all honesty..I would never be interested in anyone that's young enough to be my son ...good grief what would you have to talk about?

I'm pretty sure that some of the folks on this forum (who are grey[ing]) walk tall, walk proud and don't experience the same thing you've described Mike.

You could be right Debby, but I am ex Air Force, dress respectably
walk tall and speak to people that I meet in my wanderings.

It is when walking through the shops minding my own business that
I seem to become invisable, I see others being treated the same, it
could be the area that I live in I suppose.

Where I live all immigrants arrive to register for their permits to stay
and a lot remain in the town, but not all are immigrants.

Mike.

Well i like this thread, says i am a Cheetah,
And i have only just started to go Grey .
And have never coloured my hair, so i think i am doing fine'
And no one offers me a seat!....not yet anyway:)
,

As some would know we went to Perth a couple of weeks ago for a short trip, We caught a public transport bus from the airport to the city , half way there a couple of Young women got on the bus both with a small lightweight stroller and demanded I stand up so they could put the strollers where I was sitting , which is clearly marked for seniors and disabled
I refused to get up as I would have had to walk to the back of the moving bus for a seat, as it happened they just wanted to sit and have the strollers out in front of them. I'm 70 next year

I call that type the "Mommy Mafia". They seem to be of the opinion that pushing a stroller gives them special privileges, especially the huge strollers that can be used as steam rollers and frequently are. It's like "LADY WITH A BABY HERE.....GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
