grocery pick up

I have a slot to pick up groceries at noon Monday. Can't believe I ordered so much. $221 dollars is more than double what I usually spend and still no flour or TP. No paper products at all. And no alcohol. I'm sure some of what I ordered will be out of stock too by Monday

I have a pickup at my grocery store tomorrow, too. I ordered it on Saturday, the 4th. It was so long ago that I forgot what's in the order (LOL). And I spent about $200, with no paper products or alcohol, too.

We have a delivery coming on Wednesday. For the most part we have had good luck getting everything but there are a few substitutions lately. They no longer deliver alcohol, I suppose because you have to show ID to the delivery person and that's a no-no now. They just deliver to the front porch and leave.

I don‘t get delivery. I shop and shop and shop and everything is way too expensive. Cans of fruit were 1.75 at the Winco, so no fruit for J. Did get him those little fruit cups though. Plenty of TP and paper products, and starting to get wipes-these things are 1 per customer.

A small plastic container of 32 Lysol wipes was 5 dollars. The regular off brand wipes with 75 in a container 8 dollars and change. I found some Clorox spray as well. I ordered masks, dust not medical, from amazon for 27 dollars for the guys in the group home.

So I will be planting lots of fruit in the garden, in case my next year, prices have gone up even more. And when my check comes, buying another small freezer. Plan for the long hall is my suggestion.

I've done online grocery a few times in the last month and I've been quite pleased overall. However, recently it has become more challenging to get a time slot at the few local supermarkets that offer pickup in our area. I suspect more people have started shopping online now so there is even more competition for the time slots that are being offered by the stores. As a result, this week I shopped at one of the smaller, family run food stores that now provide curbside pickup. You may not get the variety but the quality is very good and prices are quite reasonable IMO.
