Grocery Shopping

Don't think about food much so, yes, I shop for food when hunger hits me.
Most of the time I don't know what I want to eat though.
Shopping for food is so much different when you're single.
When you see a marbled bone-in rib steak, you don't say to yourself, "My honey would love that!"
You just pass it by.
 
I rarely shop when I'm hungry, but even if I am, I can reign it in. Like others, I shop with a list. It helps control roving eyes. I'll put everything I want on the list, including goodies. Once in a while, if something that's not on the list catches my eye or is on sale, I'll buy it.

I buy most of my groceries online these days too, because it's gotten so easy and convenient.

I will go to the grocery store maybe once a month, for mostly cleaning supplies and cases of spring water.
Also dog food/treats that run low when I don't have a Chewy order coming.

I try to never shop hungry, but more importantly I try to never let my husband go to the grocery store. He comes home with the most expensive bread, the most expensive ice cream, the most expensive meat...all kinds of things I would never buy. He never looks at prices, just thinks "oh, this looks good" and in the cart it goes.

Yeah, when single, I'd mostly hit those rollers, at the 7-11
Those greazy mystery meat things spinning around in the hot box had quite the appeal
and
they were quick
no dishes

or

pizza at my favorite watering hole

I never sat the table when single
That's where mail would pile up

I'd dine over the sink
no muss
no fuss

baloney, bread
PB, bread
Cheese, bread

'course, the only other thing in my fridge was beer
 
If I’m near a grocery store, I make up a reason to go buy something. Doesn’t matter if I’m hungry or not. I love grocery shopping.
