Gruff store owner

I was looking for an item at a local mom & pop hardware store. I couldn't find it so I asked the man at the counter. He said he didn't have it. I asked if he knew anyone else that did. His face got red and he started breathing heavily, the blurted, "Do you think I'm gonna send you to my competitors?" I said "What difference does it make if you don't have any?" He suggested (with expletives) that perhaps I should remove myself from the premises. I guess he never watched "Miracle on 34th Street".

That's weird, maybe he was having a bad day....good way to lose customers for sure. Anywhere I've shopped, if they didn't have what I was looking for, they'd suggest another store that I might try.

I ran into that once in a bakery of all places. The woman in charge freaked out and started yelling at me while I was deciding what to purchase. Needless to say, I never shopped there again.

What a jerk! If he's not Pop or related, I would make a trip in again to report him. Unfortunately, he probably is family.
