How gullible are you?
I consider myself a fairly intelligent woman but am incredibly gullible?

Why is this?

It’s not like I lack life experience.

Where does being gullible come from?

Do you consider yourself gullible?

Nada

More like incredulous, seasoned with a dash of sarcasm

Perhaps that’s what surprises me is that I am incredibly suspicious AND sarcastic so am surprised I’m so gullible.

I think maybe it’s because I like to view my world with ‘rose coloured glasses’ so I can pretty things up. Often the truth is so raw & ugly so I fool myself and it’s become a habit.

Yeah, I like those rose colored glasses, too. Better than *shit* colored glasses! :ROFLMAO: :p :D ;) ✨

That's like me the other day when I had about 4 cans of diet dr. pepper--it's loaded with caffeine. I was up all night surfing the web and posting away..and actually having a pretty good time. Going to have some more of that stuff delivered! :ROFLMAO: :p 🤗:coffee:
Ummmmm Dr. Pepper. I don’t often drink pop but whenever we go to Swiss Chalet and get the meal deal, I get a can of Dr. Pepper. It’s like a dessert drink. Not the healthiest choice but tastes sooo good. Occasionally in the summer an ice cold soda is a real treat too.

Yep! That caffeine is real trippy stuff. 🤷‍♀️🤭🥳

I'm not nearly as gullible as I used to be, age seems to have affected my sense of smell and I can now smell BS a mile off...🤔
What exactly are you getting at?
Are you insinuating that I’m bull****ting and if so what am I bull****ting about?

Im not sure what I’ve done wrong but lately it feels like I’m being gossiped about for some reason and I’m not sure why.

Could someone clue me in?
Was it the girl with the whip picture I put up ?
It was a joke but if I’m upsetting too many people then I’m probably best leaving the site.

I don’t wish to make people uncomfortable.

If any members think I’m BS’ing I’d rather they call me on it and tell me what they think I’m bs’ing about so I have a chance to know what it’s about rather than ostracize me.

Wouldn't say I was gullible but was when younger. Chose the wrong folk as friends trusted too much and got badly burnt and this made me cautious and wary as I've gotten older. I have a cynical side and don't get fooled by folk so much but then there's times when I trust too much people I come into contact with but the wary side springs forth and go by this.

To me (I know this is going to sound insulting), the massive gullibility so many people have is mostly not keeping up with the news and learning about the world as it is today. 'Life experience' doesn't buy you anything. New tech brings on new scams that people fall for every day with so many of these scams being a decade old, publicized 'everywhere', if people would only read and stay informed. But, I'm a 'victim blamer'. How many times does it have to be repeated that no one does business on the phone --- only in writing?
On the more personal level, I agree with comments about trusting people too much which makes me cynical. To me, being overly trusting is not really thinking through situations that arise because it's so much easier to 'go along to get along'.

Gullibility is getting a lot of people scammed out of money.

For instance, they get a phone call telling them that it's the IRS or income tax department calling and saying that they owe the government money for taxes and if they don't pay their pension will be cut off and they pay. It's at the point that the Canadian government has published a booklet warning citizens about these scams.
The Canadian government won't phone you about your taxes.

Gullibility is linked to our propensity to trust. According to research, humans tend to err on the side of trust until something causes us to doubt. It's part of being able to live in communities. We trust that when we put our money in the bank, it will stay there until we withdraw it. We trust that doctors will not molest or even kill patients (even though both have been true). We trust our partners to be honest and loyal (although many are not). So, it can be damaging to put too much trust in things or people without doing a bit of due diligence, but we do to varying degrees. I tend not to be gullible, but that may simply be because I was a researcher for so many years where part of the goal was to test and verify.

Where on earth did that come from Keesha ? I havn’t a clue what you’re on about, my post certainly was not aimed at you I would hope you knew me better than that, it was supposed to be an amusing reply to your original topic of gullibility and I thought it might make people laugh...maybe I should curb my British sense of humour, sorry if my post offended you or any other members
