Guy offers a drink to girl at a bar, then refuses to pay for it

It’s a classic rom-com setup. Guy sees girl from across the bar, guy offers to buy her a drink as an excuse to talk to her, girl orders four double shots of 1942 Don Julio Tequila.

A 23-year-old guy posted on Reddit asking whether he was in the wrong for this night-out snafu.

I think they were both wrong.
When the girl was offered a drink, she should not have requested extras for her friends.
When the guy heard her doing this, he should have confronted her on-the-spot: "I offered to buy one for you- if you want more for your friends then it's up to you to pay for them."

Wow, this is a good example , of the many times when a headline makes us think we have a very definite opinion and reaction,
but in gathering more details and info, we might change our view, either partially or completely.

I try to wait and gather more info, than is in headlines, but sometimes can still fall into that type of error.

Was gonna call him a cheap skate but he did the right thing after she took advantage of him.
Same here. He did the right thing. When i first read this, I thought, "Must be California!" Men ask you out to a nice dinner, during the meal, ask you to spend the night with them and when you refuse, they either call the waitress over to announce loudly, "Separate checks" or they get up, slap all their pockets and say, "Sorry, Forgot my wallet. Can you get this?" That's what I was expecting, but this guy, No, He did right.

When women started saying they were invincible, I figured I didn't have to open Miss Invincible's door. That was decades ago. I totally agree that women are just as capable as men, so they can buy their own damn drinks. As to the woman in the thread, I think she got what was due her. There's a word, which is appropriate, it begins b*****.

It's so good to carp about something other than a virus.

She's a hustler, fuzzybuddy, straight out.

Why does everybody expect a do-over?

He placed his order for a beer, and, as he told the bartender, “whatever she wants.”

Some folks spend four years in college to get an education and some guys spend one night in a bar.

IMO If the bartender filled the order the big spender should pay the bill.
