Had to go to ER which was pretty empty, I suppose because of the virus. Our medical group is advertising on TV to come on in, it’s safe.

I tripped, caught myself, and received a skin tear the size of Texas. Lol. Well, actually fold a dollar bill in half and that’s my skin tear. Part of the torn skin folded underneath so I had to go in so the doctor could unfold it and pull it in place. It’ll die but it’ll protect my arm while it heals.

I would have gone to an instant care but they didn’t open for a couple hours and by that time the torn folded under skin might have died, although I think it will anyway. Plus couldn’t risk getting an infection from the wound.

Anyway, very few people at ER which is usually very busy. No one allowed to wait in the waiting area, no one in the room with you and must wear mask. Took 15 for the aide to come in the room, about an hour all total. Half hour was spent waiting for the numbing cream to take effect, took doc 5 minutes to unfold it. Hurts.

I bet the hospitals are losing a lot of money as people stay away for fear of the virus.

Glad you are taking good care of your self! The few times I have been to the ER have been awful. Too many people My doctor usually calls ahead for me since I am a fall and stroke risk. So I get a bed there and hopefully go home that night.

Aneeda,.glad you were able to get to the hosptial have that taken care of,feeling better
The hospital where I used to work,Buffalo General the patient volume is down, though they have 3 units for the coronovirus patients.Sadly, the 1st health worker who has died of the virus was a 30 yr employee@ BGH,a xray technician. I recognized him,was the front page story in yesterday's paper

Glad you're doing okay. I went to a local hospital to do some investigative work on my own. There are two hospitals in my area, in different townships. I drive by them almost daily because they are on my route to everywhere, and I've noticed during this whole pandemic thing, they don't have anymore activity which seemed strange to me. Shouldn't I at least see doctors, nurses and the occasional ambulance? So I went up there in the car just to see and there was nothing. There were two or three cars in the parking lot but nothing and no one else at all.

It was an interesting adventure and answered a lot of questions for me.

Thanks.

Yeah that’s how is was at our usually very busy wait for hours hospital. It’s the virus, people are afraid, but I had no choice. My wound was too large.

Hope you are on the mend soon Aneeda. A lot of people are evading hospital emergency because of fear, glad you were sensible enough to seek help, that tear could have become badly infected without treatment.

Thanks everyone for your concern.

I had an appointment today with the ortho doc about my shoulder. Yup, there is a tear, (he did an ultrasound) and he thinks I also have a half frozen shoulder. Hmm, which half 😂. Then we had to discuss his plumbing, and how he had to paint his bathroom cause of the virus. Like I care. Sigh.

Got referral to surgeon for shoulder. Asked him about my wound which hurts a lot and is still bleeding. He looked at it, said keep it covered for another two weeks, it’s too early to tell if it’s infected, and am I following the virus protocol? Yup.

Then he said he had to clean his laundry drain cause you just can’t have workman in because of the virus. He was at home depot and amazed how many people were not wearing masks. Again, I don’t care. We always have to clear our own drain. Plumbers are expensive. And, he will give me a different shot in a different place in my shoulder and let’s see if that will help.

Get undressed. Lay on the table. Shot really hurt. Make appointment with surgeon. Oh, get dressed 😁.
