Hair colours these days

I thought I would ask this separately from my tattoos and piercings thread.

There is a huge increase in people having often startlingly coloured hair. Maybe I am mistaken but I see more women than men?

I always have a cut and colour but only to disguise grey in my natural hair. I wouldn't dare have a bold colour as I do not want people looking at me!

I do not understand why the incredible colours people now have. Is it to gain attention, just be daring, express creativity or shock and awe?

What the young only used to do now seems no problem to the mature.

Different hair colors on people (of any age) don't bother me at all ... Let them have fun!

When my own hair all turned too white for my tastes, I found it the perfect time to go platinum.
This was after a lifetime of very dark brown hair.

Same here! Dark brunette seems to bleach out whiter than blonde so Platinum or "Lightest Blonde," is perfect for us.

As for the young people with their turquoise and fuchsia hair? I love it! They can express themselves without doing anything permanent (like tattoos) and let it grow out when they start to hate it.

I saw this lovely/beautiful young woman on the TV,
yesterday, I hadn't seen her for a few months, she is
a doctor of something, Geology, Archaeology, animals,
she covered the lot, before she had natural Ginger/Red
hair, yesterday she had Pink hair, it made her look not
well, anaemic, people with ginger hair have pale skin.

She was still good looking though!

I've met some people with brightly colored hair and they are not the cool people they seem so intent on presenting.

Years ago, I worked with a German woman. She told me as a child in the 50's, she went to Paris with her mother and there were women with purple hair. I guess it's not all that new. More common.

In the early 80's, in Santa Cruz, I worked with a pretty young woman who was total punk. To the point, this girl looked intimidating. She was a very sweet person. Never can tell.

At my age my hair is white. Nothing unusual about that, but I have a mustache that has adorned my lip for more than 50 years, and I hate white mustaches! So, with a little help mine has maintained a light brown color, and I hope always will.

Odd hair colors don't bother me at all. Not sure why. Maybe it's because I know it's not permanent. Sometimes, but not all the time, I see some configuration of coloring that I find quite interesting.

About ten years ago the pastor of my Episcopalian church dyed her hair purple. It matched her robes and looked pretty good.

She was always trying to loosen us all up and wanted us to clap our hands and sway with the music. We weren't very good at it. Trying to get middle aged Episcopalians to rock out just wasn't happening. She moved on to a big city church where I'm sure she had better results.
