Hair washing, do you maintain a routine that works well for you...

I wash my hair once a week. If you’d told me, before menopause, that I could go a whole week without a hair washing, I’d have called you a bald faced liar!! If I didn’t wash my hair every day, sometimes twice a day, it would be a greasy, awful mess!!

But here I am at 70, washing my hair once a week and marveling at how it looks better and better as the days go by!! I swear I could EASILY go longer, but my own personal hygiene asthetic won’t let me 😫

I can afford really good shampoo and conditioner because of only having to use it once a week. So I indulge myself. Add some mousse to the crown of my head after shampooing and conditioning (where it tends to go flat) then finger style and curl and let it air dry

Shower daily and keep my hair fairly short.......use Irish Spring bar soap head to toe.

I used that Irish Spring soap once, and had a violent skin reaction that looked like hives. Never again. I have very long hair for a man, down to the middle of my back, and I use a combination shampoo and conditioner from Dove for men. Twice a week. Blow dry and brush out, then pony tail with a cinch tie at the nape of the neck. Think of a retired biker, that is what I look like, with a medium long beard as well. JImB.

I knew a man who had a stroke hours after an eye appointment. Don't hyper extend your neck for those eye drops either.
Good advice. Thanks for that.

I'm so sorry for @Della's mom and the man you knew who both had strokes from seemingly innocent activities. It appears this complication isn't as uncommon as we might have guessed.

Love long hair on men!

My hair is thinner than it used to be but Ok so far. I'm trying to blow dry less and urge some natural waves. My hair is much healthier since I stopped coloring several years ago. Since I don't have to go to work I can let it dry naturally and by early afternoon it's pretty dry especially in warmer weather. I wash every 2 to 3 days. Purple shampoo twice a month.
I found some very light curl cream by Herbal Essence so I can mold some waves without crunch or grease or frizz. I use it sparingly and it's the best I've found. I actually found it in a closeout lot type store. Luckily, I bought two because I don't think you can get it anymore. It's called Soft Control Creme #1 light.
Anyway, I can't believe there's so much to talk about hair but unfortunately most of us just don't have the thick lush hair we once did.
