Halloween Decorations

Is your house decorated for Halloween? Even a little bit.

I just came back from a two mile walk and there were only a handful of houses with decorations. That’s kind of disappointing; I like to see them, especially since I don’t have any of my own. 😊

On a nighttime route there’s one lady who has every inch covered with decorations. Guess I‘d better do that route again tonight since I don’t want to be out the goblins tomorrow.

No, I don't decorate for Halloween.

I was just at Marshall's and they had all Halloween merchandise at 50% off. You bet I bought something. lol Bought the only fairy costume they had for one of the g-nieces. They can fight over it. It's too big for this year; hopefully they'll save it for next year.

Bought two sets of Dia De Los Muertos bowl with spatula and cookie cutter for myself and my sister Lucy. They had tons of stuff.

Yes just a little bit.. I have a wreath on the front door.. (autumn wreath).. and my mantle is decorated..as is the Hearth... but nothing else.. and I'll take it all down on the 1st of November...

The outside front porch of my house has a scarecrow sitting on a rocker, two chrysanthemums, and a pumpkin plaque on the wall. Inside, I have several pumpkins and gourds and a few fall/Halloween knick-knacks.

Around the corner, the guy has out two oversized realistic skeletons, a third which appears to be emerging from the ground, and a life-sized horse skeleton. I regard this to be a bit over the top.

At the grocery store the day before Halloween, I noticed that they had little Halloween merchandise left out, even less for Thanksgiving, but lots of stuff out for Xmas! That seasonal juggernaut has arrived… 😩

On the walk tonight I only saw 9 houses with decorations. Probably walked past 120+. Since I don’t have anything up, I can’t throw stones.

One year I made a Halloween decoration by putting a black graduation robe over a step ladder with a broomstick across the top to hold the sleeves out. I put black gloves on the ends of the broomstick and then put a jack-o-lantern on the top for the head. It looked very threatening.

I put it by the front door. There was also a window by the door.

Unfortunately, every time I walked by the window, I'd see the figure out of the corner of my eye and scream. It got so bad, that I had to move it away from the door and window until the trick-or-treaters started showing up.

I felt so dumb to be continually startled by something that *I* had built and put there.
