TBH I don't even carve a pumpkin, trick-or-treaters are no where near, and I'm OK with that. For some Halloween is just fun, and I respect that.

Halloween is that magical time of year when a plump little old lady can fill her grocery trolley with Reese’s peanut butter cups and nobody bats an eye or judges her, not sorry!

Always felt Halloween should be celebrated on the last Saturday of each October.

Great for Bars, House Parties...kids don't have to get up early for school, and parents can sleep in the next day. Safer for trick or treating children as well...no after work rush hour traffic on the roads.

We too live in a 55+ community, and pretty rural, we used to get about 20 kids (grandchildren of residents)then a couple of years ago it got to be too difficult for us, so we just turned the lights off and did nothing. Now that our son is here to help us he might want to do Halloween again.

I am so laughing here, you sound like my son near me. He is flying to California for a Fright Night thing beginning
later this month. He loves Halloween, he has costumes and does b-day parties for kids and does parades and his prized
collection artifact he just recently bought

The reason I wrote this was because I read an article like this...

"Traffic deaths spike among children who are trick-or-treating on Halloween"

So for safety alone, Halloween should be celebrated on the last Saturday of each October. The purists would all raise hell, though.
