Halloween: let the countdown begin

If I were to wear a Holloween costume, which I am not, but if I did I would go with one of Jack Nicholson.

I would go as Carol Kane in "The Princess Bride". When I get caught in the rain my hair frizzes up and I say to my husband,
"I am not a witch! I'm your wife!"

Well Halloween was a total fizzer last night as we had a severe electrical storm with high winds.
Nobody came knocking on my door.
It was damp and very windy here last night. I got up and looked a few times but didn't see any trick-or-treaters on foot. One time there were two vans pulled up at the house across the street - about 10 people piled out and went to that house - they didn't look like kids, either. On Halloween, I leave lights inside and out turned off, so no one comes here. Last year my doorbell rang once, but I didn't answer.

The houses across the street were all lit up, so I assume they were giving out treats. A few weeks ago I talked to the neighbor that mows my lawn and he said he doesn't treat on Halloween.

I had two $25 rolls of dollar coins which I was going to hand out in lieu of candy. However we had zero trick or treaters. So the next day when I went to Walmart and bought groceries I paid for part of them with one of the rolls of dollar coins. I went to the self check out so I would not have to explain to the check out person that these are real United States of America Money. The machine took all 25 of them in the coin slot. Lot's of clunking as they went in. :)

I'll keep the other roll of 25 just in case Trick or Treating makes a resurgence one of these years.
