Halloween - the entire month of October?

Actually, I am an artist. So let's just say that my artistic sensibilities are offended. I have seen some tasteful and creative Halloween decorations, and then some that look like someone was getting evicted and put all their stuff on the lawn. Lots of neighbors complained every year about the messy display.
Maybe they should get a life.....having nothing better to do than complain about your neighbors' lack of artistry is actually pretty sad....

What I dislike most is the endless horror movies shown on most channels starting in September 'til mid November. As far as the retailers are concerned, they push so long and hard it's nauseating. By the time Halloween actually rolls around it's lost its punch.

Now Halloween and Christmas advertising overlap. We can't even get past Halloween before they start hammering Christmas. It starts earlier every year, is unrelenting, and lasts until after Christmas.
I would love to watch a channel/network with endless horror movies. But I would want it to be the corny ones I watched when I was growing up. Not these violent ones that they make now that has 43 gallons of blood flowing.

I think in the case of some of those, the directors say, "Oh, look, we have six buckets of blood and three containers of body parts left. You know that stuff won't keep, so we better use it all in the last two minutes." And then proceed to do just that.

Why NOT Halloween for a month? Beats Christmas for THREE months.
In the area I live in, I prefer harvest time and fall. So much we should appreciate and contemplate the coming winter and the past of the previous seasons. As we prepare of the snows so much to be put away and winter items and the house to be set for the coming cold. It is also our time to see the beauty of these changing seasons. So I do not think that Halloween is; on my list, for one month, one day or ever.
