Handwriting

My handwriting has gotten bad too, but with me I just figure it has to do with the arthritis in my fingers. I do not know enough about Parkensons to address that

All things being equal, meaning normal health, I'm thinking handwriting suffers the same degradation as the rest of our faculties over time? I used to have fairly decent looking handwriting, verified by my wife, but even I notice it isn't what it used to be anymore :(. I don't see as well as I once did, I don't hear as well as I once did, and my skin is getting thin and bruises easily. It is what it is I guess, and definitely beats the alternative .

I have noticed my writing isn't what it used to be either. But, I just assumed it is because I hardly ever write anything so I'm getting out of practice. I do more typing than writing these days and it is beginning to show.

Here's mine... I've just scribbled this down fast...

WoW!! really?...and that's me just scribbling fast...and there's me thinking I have a problem...lol

Your handwriting reminds me of my mother's. You leave a space between some letters. When I learned cursive, there were no spaces. Also my letters slant, yours don't... neither did my mom's.
Maybe it's a European thing.

Is that how you learned to write or that's just how you happen to write now?

its legible and looks good to me.

Oooh no I learned penmanship at school CC.. ink bottle on the desk and fountain pen...but I never stuck to it... so I've pretty much written like that all my life...except now it's much more noticeably messy than before... . That said it was just a quick scribble for this thread...but really nowadays it's not much better if I take my time..I find if I write slowly my hand shakes now...

Funny..you're writing reminds me of my grandmothers' :)

Lol!

I see...

salad map
tomatoes
apples
canned pumpkin (that one wasn't easy)
mood luf
Tony
O.J.
shed cheese
alves
cornish mrhom

That's what I see, but obviously, I could get most of what's on the list. I'd have looked for shed cheese all day. It took a while before I guessed olives, and even longer to figure out that the last item was mushrooms. And I'd have gotten canned mushrooms, but reluctantly.

You should discuss this with your doctor. There is a handful of possible medical reasons for changes in penmanship.

My handwriting has always been crummy, mighta had to do with being a lefty. I don't do much handwriting, maybe the grocery list. I like writing on the computer, has spell checker. ;)

deboden, all joking aside, you should talk to your doctor. You should show him your list. The writing looks very similar to my mother's after she had a TIA, commonly called a "mini-stroke."

Holly Dolly. Half of your handwriting is printing. That's not penmanship script.

So what? That's how she writes.

How do you know she doesn't have a crippling joint disease?

This is a friendly forum, why don't you take a break from criticizing?

Et to brut? The topic is handwriting.

I have commented on the symptom of Parkinson's and the handwriting getting smaller and my personal experience.

If you want to be friendly you should refrain from personal remarks and stick to the topic. Handwriting ?

Thank you Radish rose...you made a perfectly valid point...as I said previously I suffer from RA in my fingers... and therefore my handwriting is not anything like it was..
