Researchers say the happiest ages are 23 and 69 and dip in between. What about you?

I had a happy childhood but, not counting that, I think I was happiest at 30 and 65 (i'm not 69 yet so time will tell). I was a little scared at 23 to strike out on my own and the shocking reality that I had to make a living set in. Therefore, I'd say I was happiest at 30 when my business was steady, moved to southern California, married, in love, became a Bible believer, and started a family. I've also been euphorically happy since I retired at 65. I've had more time to think about my health and take care of myself so I feel much better. Everyday is fun and exciting.

...happiest ages are 23 and 69 ?

Well, at 23 you are dreaming big of a life full of accomplishments to come..
And at 69, you've settled back, and resigned yourself as to how it all turned out.
:)

I'm certainly not all that thrilled about being old or getting older but if I could turn back the clock and freeze my age it would be 40......by age 40 I was settled and I pretty much had my head screwed on straight.

Getting old isn't as glamorous as it is made out to be. :)

If you aren't counting childhood, which was the happiest time of my life ,I would say 23 would be about right. I'd make it a bit earlier than 69 though. By 69 I started getting a bit creaky in my bones and didn't have the stamina of a few years before. I also felt the loss of all those who have passed on a bit more than before. More time to think I guess.

At 47 a marriage that had not been happy but stuck to because "that's what you do" ended and I was, effectively, on my own for the first time in my life - and in DC, the perfect city for such a life. It was a fabulous adventure. Then after a coupla years I met my bride and we are still enjoying each other a lot. It was funny - shortly after we met something profound happened to me and I didn't even know it. People of the female persuasion were regarding me and treating me differently. I finally realized that without even knowing it I had removed my "available" sign - you know, those subtle signals you send out.

Almost thirty years later - no regrets and enjoying every day.

When I was 23 I was 3 years away from getting my first decent paying job(with benefits).

I am actually 4 years away from being 69, we'll see what SS and Medicare can do, when I apply for them in June.

23 I was pretty busy taking care of 3 kids. I doubt I was having a very good time. 69, I think will be a good time for me. I'll let you know in 8 months.
