Happy Birthday To OneEyedDiva!

I thank each of you so very much for your wonderful HBD messages❣️ You have made me feel very special and certainly brightened my days. I'm not going to front....I read through your messages and got teary eyed. I know it wasn't a fluke, because I read them twice and the same thing happened again. I am so moved!

Diva, I have just the piece of music to blow away those tears. It's from Orpheus in the Underworld by Jacques Offenbach. It is a lovely piece of classical music. Stay with it for the first minute, you won't be disappointed.

Do you have any special plans?
My son's GF said she would get me whatever I wanted for my BD. Previously I told her I value experiences more than "stuff". What I wanted and what we planned for over a month was to go see my dear friend Hunter perform at one of the spots he gigs at on a semi regular basis.

I ordered sole stuffed with crabmeat, mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe, half of which I brought home. I don't usually get dessert, but ordered the N.Y. style cheesecake; it came with a lit candle. Also brought home half of that. The food was very good and our waitress was wonderful. She really took to me for some reason. She didn't charge for our first round of drinks (non alcoholic) and gave me more mozzarella bread and a long loaf of French bread to take home.

Wasn't sure he was going to be able to make it but my son joined us after he finished with his commitment. He doesn't usually like to dance but said we had to dance when Hunter sang “I’ll Always Love My Mama”. We avoided the crowded floor and danced right in the elevated area our tables were in (the waitress gave us two (for two) tables so we'd have enough room).

During Hunter’s breaks, he always comes and sits with us for a few minutes, even though he mingles with his other fans. He was so glad to see my son, who's production skills he greatly admires. We chatted a bit about a project we're working on together. He played some good music by other artists during his break. Two songs were Latin and I just couldn’t sit down during Suavemente (House Remix) by Fred Perry. The small dance floor was crowded and I was surprised to see Hunter dancing. Tonight was the first time since the 22 years I’ve known him that we got a chance to dance together, albeit briefly.

He sang HBD to me and four other ladies. He also sang Ooh Baby, Baby, one of my favorites by him, which he always dedicates to me. The waitress told me how blessed she felt to have met me and that she thinks I'm amazing! She's a beautiful young lady who I wouldn't have guessed was older than her late 20s but turns out she's almost 40 and has 5 children! I had given her the info about my website and she said she was very interested in hearing my music.

Hunter heard us and told her that my music is unique and wonderful. It's a thrill to hear an artist of his caliber say that (even though I knew prior that he feels that way). His music and performances always leave me exhilarated and inspired. After we left, I found out my son's GF also got me a $100 Amazon gift card! I was made to feel very special that night, so although it was an intimate celebration, I had a wonderful 77th birthday!

@OneEyedDiva
What a special birthday you had .. thank you for sharing with us. You were treated like the incredible person you are 🥰

What a fabulous birthday. You look like you are having a wonderful time. That restaurant looks classy.

Going out and creating wonderful experiences is far nicer than a material gift. It’s an experience that will last a lifetime. Music is actuslly the last thing a person remembers. When I played at the old folks home there was one lady who never communicated yet she sang when I played the sax. They said that hadn’t heard her for years.

The food sounds amazing. That was nice that they wrapped it up and let you take it home. I like eating fish also.

Of course your waitress liked you. You’re a very likeable person. Look at all the people who wished you a happy birthday.
You’re interesting and interested in what others have to say. Clearly you have no mental disorders to deal with, which is good.

I’m so glad you had such a wonderful time. You deserve it. The last saxophonist I went to see was Mike Murley. It was at a classy place also and I loved it.
