Happy dusters, what's your secret?

Yea, I know- this topic is quite possibly going to get the trophy for the day's most mundane thread...

So, it's super dusty here, if I do buckle down(up?) and get busy dusting there's little "reward" for the effort, as everything will be just as dusty again in less than a week. That, coupled with my I hate to dust attitude...makes the chore all the more unpleasant.
How do you do it? Do you reach deep down within your being and harness some power or energy? Do you make a 'party' out of the ordeal?

No I simply use one of these... and it's done in minutes literally..the whole house...

I've had to fight dust for years because of allergy problems....a "party"?? no, no party but I can realize a real improvement in my allergy problems after a good cleaning that involves vacuuming, dusting with a damp rag, wet mopping and changing air filters.....all pure drudgery.

I have allergy and dust filters on my oil heater and also a good filter over my central air condition intake.
They are about 10 dollars each ,but I just paid $47 for 6 at amazon, and I replace them after a month's use.
I dont seem to have any major dust problem at all.

I do have allergies and there is plenty of grass mold around here due to so many trees.

I wear a mask when I get my mail sometimes, when the wind from the west is bringing allergens my way.

Consistency is the trick, I clean and dust every Sunday so it's never much of a chore. I use one of those duster wands that you can extend or angle so it's very easy to hit any surface.
same as mine..long reach with angled head... and the gret thing is that unlike using a normal duster, you can get into crannies very easily which might otherwise never get touched

I can relate to that. I have multiple allergies to include cat dander and when my two beloved cats died many years ago, both over 17 years old, I managed to pull up every single piece of wall to wall carpeting I had and then I re -did each room with tiles floors. I managed to cut the carpeting into small sections and even the rug padding under them and put it all out for my garbage man. Marise and Cleo:

I only have some small area rugs now, and they are easy to clean.

I noticed a difference to my allergies right away! But that was when I was young- maybe 75 - in those days.
But I know my air and heater filters help a lot too-

I hate dusting too, if the stock market does well for the next 10 years maybe I can afford to hire someone to come in and clean.

The only time I regularly dusted was back in college when I shared a dorm room with a dust maniac who made me take weekly turns dusting. I had a couple books on my side of the room, she had a vine trained all over the wall on her side and I had to dust each leaf.

So I guess a drill sergeant personality roommate would help you.

I dusted houses for 30 years. I was a happy duster, most of the time. Just like everything...occasionally it wasn't happy. But, I had to do it, or get fired. At home, dusting happens when it happens. We do have cats so we dust and vacuum about every 2 weeks.

Organizing complicated stuff takes up a lot of time, and that is part of cleaning. Remember the "Odd Couple". I am both of those dudes. :)

There's no "secret," Nathan. What'samattawityou? 🤔 It's dusty; we dust, and we hate it. That is all. 🥴

That's my plight as well, mega allergies. I usually vacuum with one of 4 machines that I have. Damp cloth for all the myriad of dust catching surfaces. My treadmill and elliptical seem to have an electrical charge that makes them a magnet for dust.

My wife does the dusting throughout the year, A lot comes from her hobbies though. Quilting, crotcheting, and knitting. Twice a year I put an exhaust fan in a window, drag an air compressor hose to the other end of the house and blow out all the corners. Top to bottom, ceiling fans, cold air returns, underside of furniture and whatever else I can. Of course, she is gone for the day when I do this.
The dust is all her fault. It doesn't have anything to do with the sawdust or grass chaff that I drag in. ;)

I have a small air cleaner. I carry it from room to room and turn it on when I dust and vacuum so it sucks up all the flying dust that the vacuum filter doesn't get. It seems I don't have to dust too often.
