Happy Thanksgiving Day - 2023

@GAlady HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving indeed all SF folks!

Today was mostly alone. Early this afternoon under mostly sunny 70F skies sat down for an hour beside an urban all year stream beneath shady cottonwoods, willows, and American sweetgums with fall leaves all about and color in trees. The stream maybe 20 feet across and shallow at most thigh deep had 3 enormous salmon spawning naturally in stream cobbles. Due to the shady light in the stream, I could not see down underneath the water much except right below at my feet. But just wanted to watch, wonder, and enjoy.

However the big female usually most upstream was about 30 inches long and the two males a bit shorter. So their backs and fins often stuck well out of the stream rippling flow. And that also caused sounds fins make atop water when big fish wiggle atop water. The smooth often flattish stone cobbles on the bottom would have a layer of slippery algae atop so the female fish pushing their body's against that smooth surface where the water flow would assist downward motion can easily stabilize their position to more easily push eggs out into spaces between the stones where current won't push them downstream. Downstream where all manner of things would welcome eating the tiny orange round blobs.

When I first arrived and sat down on a boulder, the male fish tentatively noticed me. But I was wearing dark colors, blues, blacks. And I was quiet and peaceful, watching, so the Vibe in the Universe became most wonderful. A once in a lifetime experience for this fishermen. Even after I later stood up they continued their dance of reproductive life as they do, even like they were also performing in harmony for one of their Earth cousins in our wonderful organic paradise.

A fascinating reality of this 2023 AD Thanksgiving is how anyone can now just web search with say "thanksgiving & grateful" and get search hits for all manner of page listing grateful categories. The below is just a part of one example list. Worth a read for increasing neural plasticity by massaging cross connections with broad higher level social behaviors for we Earth monkey's wisdom.
