Hardest thing you had to tell someone

Telling my father that my brother died tragically at 32 yo after fighting alcohol and drug addictions for 21 years. My father would not give up on my brother no matter how much pain he caused. It was the only time I've ever saw him cry.

2nd was explaining to our daughter, an only child, that she was never going to have a baby brother or sister to take care of.
 
Telling my son who was 11 years old that I had been diagnosed with cancer. I had just recently divorced from his mother and we always hung out together. I couldn't promise him that I would beat it, but I did promise that I would fight like hell and make it at least 5 more years until he was 16, and he would maybe be old enough to get through it.

Thankfully it didn't come to that and he is now 30.

Yea, flying the route with DFW can be unpredictable, have had connecting flights issues on several occasions. :rolleyes:

When flying into DFW during the spring and summer, we sometimes have to fly through Tornado Alley, which extends from Colorado through Oklahoma and into Texas and if there are active tornados or severe thunderstorms in the area, pilots will do what they have to do to keep everyone safe. After all, we want to live also. I would rather be late than be a statistic on the 10 o'clock news.

DFW is well-known for producing squall lines with super cell thunderstorms and microbursts. When in the final approach, they are a huge hazard. A microburst can drive a 737 or larger aircraft right into the ground.

I don't think I've had an experience that even comes close to some of these—not that it's a competition.

I suppose the hardest thing I've ever had to tell anyone was that I had miscarried. I'd had two uneventful pregnancies before that, so I had happily, gleefully, broadcast the news of the new pregnancy far and wide. Then I had to tell everyone what happened.

I was more prudent with the next pregnancy.
 
Hands down, telling my mother I was gay. I'm an only child and it was a horrible experience. I had just started college. I'd had a girlfriend for 3 years in high school. At first she was in disbelief, then she thought she was responsible and constantly cried.

But there was a good ending. After my father passed away, Hubby and I took care of her for 21 years and she was happy to have both of us in her life.
