Has anyone experienced stomach swelling and discomfort

I know this may seem like a trivial physical malady but for me it is causing problems beyond the obvious. Last summer for some reason it felt like something I had eaten swelled up in my stomach, the discomfort lasted a few days and then it and the swelling went away. Over the course of this past year my stomach has ballooned to appear as if I was pregnant and the discomfort has returned. I am now in my fourth month of not smoking but have not slowed on the 'replacement' snacks that could be a cause of this 'pregnancy'. I am endeavoring to walk at least a mile a day or more but the pain from my stomach gets worse after mere minutes of walking, and when walking and I inhale it seems like there is no place for the air to go.

My doctor says the enlarged stomach is just fat
from over-eating
because of my quitting cigarettes
of course I think he is wrong
.... has anyone experienced something similar?

Doc's probably right......I quit smoking 20 years ago...put on an immediate 40+ pounds...never lost it. And yes my middle is circumference enhanced ....:)

circumference enhanced ....:)

Thank's 'rgp' for that early afternoon smile!
Since starting my blog on word press half a decade ago I have always been on the lookout for unique or humorous ways to phrase something and your words
( circumference enhanced ) certainly fit the bill.

....again thanks

Did speak to him number of times and he attributes it to eating too much

I'd get a second opinion on that. About three years ago I had some tightness along with coughing during exercise. My GP said it was probably bronchitis and prescribed an inhaler. But he also sent me to a cardiologist who found that I had a blocked artery. They put in a stent and I have been fine every since. Knock on wood.

I had a coworker whose stomach swelled up like a balloon. He dropped dead of a heart attack a few months later. I don't mean to scare you, but I think getting a second opinion is a good idea.
