Has anyone had NDE-like (near death experience) experience?

A blissful, peaceful, silent feeling (without drugs) that lasted more than a few minutes.

Yes. Several times. Most times I’m floating about my body watching what’s happening but other times I’ve stepped into that unconditional loving white light of all knowing intelligence.

It’s nice meeting people who have experienced this since words just aren’t good enough to explain it. What a topic starter this is. A great topic but guaranteed you’ll meet some nay sayers.

I am so glad some one else had it. (I 'thought some thing was wrong with me; although one can ignore anything but not one's own experience when it happens -- undesired, unexpected -- by itself repeatedly.)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

There is at least one other person on this forum who has experienced a NDE. I’m sure she will be more than happy to join the discussion.

What I am more interested is other's feelings about their NDE-like experiences while in good health.

With warmest regards.

My experience is of: "Awareness only (no subject, object duality), absolute silence, absolute peace, absolute wellness, absolute bliss". That's all.

Please, let's share our own individual awareness of any (let's not lable it nde-like) unexplainable, undefinable, and indescribable experiences.

Thank you.

i have had an actual NDE, which i've talked about on other threads a long while back and am not up to repeating details here--besides they don't seem to be what you're requesting. But also about4-5 yrs later at a time in my life when i was meditating a minimum of 3 times a day, and taking a course in Past Life Regression from the Silva Method people (i actually won it at a convention the previous summer) i 'revisited' my NDE somewhat.

In Silva classes they often have people work in pairs (one as an 'Orienter' and observer, one as the person going to 'level'--functioning/producing Alpha brain waves) when doing things like remote healings or past life regressions. But the instructors will sometimes pause to respond to an Orienter's question. Me, i go deep, fast and can keep tabs on what's happening in the room while also 'drifting' or exploring the mental/emotional 'space' i'm occupying. This time the pause was when the active participants were already taken to the 'Bardo' or 'between lives' place.

For me it was kind of like being out in the universe (as original NDE had been too with some 'physical' places manifesting too). i was floating about exploning when a bright light caught my attention, moving toward it looked like a sphere of mostly white light with dots of light moving in and out of it. As i got closer i could tell the white light perception was created by millions of lights of all colors, that blending from distance made white light.

When i crossed the 'edge' of the sphere i was overwhelmed by unconditional love, like during my NDE. i realized i was in that 'place' where i'd been. Tears of joy rolled down my face. My Orienter became concerned and asked if i was ok. i was able to reply in the affirmative, said i would explain later as i wanted to enjoy where i was until class was moving on. When it did i withdrew from that 'place' and focused on the class work. But this was so significant for me because i realized i could go 'there' whenever i wanted. Feel that peace, joy, love.

Where can I read those details, please.

My bad. Apologies.

It's okay to talk about NDEs and NDE-like accounts in this thread. Let's share our experiences, please.

Thank you for sharing yours. Much appreciated. :)

There is a new book I will look for in my library:
"In My Time of Dying" by Sebastian Junger.

This interests me as Junger is an atheist. He does not connect his NDE to the "spiritual." Here is a brief description:

"As blackness encroached, he was visited by his dead father, inviting Junger to join him. ā€œIt’s okay,ā€ his father said. ā€œThere’s nothing to be scared of. I’ll take care of you.ā€ That was the last thing Junger remembered until he came to the next day when he was told he had suffered a ruptured aneurysm that he should not have survived.

This experience spurred Junger—a confirmed atheist raised by his physicist father to respect the empirical—to undertake a scientific, philosophical, and deeply personal examination of mortality and what happens after we die."
In My Time of Dying — Sebastian Junger

I'm an atheist. I do not believe we need a god to have these experiences, to know there is an unexplained force to be reckoned with. Sometimes I feel that. Other times, I wonder if it is just our egotistical brains making the whole thing up.

Like Junger, I'm open to exploration.

Yes, I also wanted to remain "in that peaceful blissful place" but the eyes open automatically after some time. The occurrences are not in my control. They happen of their own and go away of their own.

Perhaps other members may comment as they see it. Awaiting...

Not me personally, but there was an article yesterday in
the Daily Mail, from a neuroscientist, who experienced
one, he has now changed his attitude, to the subject,
he says that there is a third state, after "Life and Death",
others agree with him.
Why scientists think a 'third state' beyond life and death

Mike.
I had one many years ago. My soul left my body and I could look down at the body. I ould see the medics trying to save me. I remember re entering my body.

The Sebastian Junger book I mentioned in post #12? Don't waste your time. Rehash of BS. Not one original thought in it.
