Has anyone here updated their cell phone lately?

A USB storage that plugs into your phone can copy them and then put them on the puter. I have the Apple one with 128 MB Storage.
Just in case!

The Pro iPads do a better job of sizing photos than the phones.

If I had one, which I don't, I would throw it away! I have many good things I do, I will never sacrifice any of that time to talk on a cell phone...what a total waste of time...

I know, I know...most of you could not live without your cell phone! Well, I think if you REALLY think this through, you may find I am correct! How much time do you lose every day because of your phone? Think about it...life is short, use it wisely.
Not much really. But time spent on the laptop, is another matter! I'm reducing the use of social media, and started going to the library to get actual books, and doing some painting, instead.

I have a Tracfone flip phone. I think I can get apps, but don’t want them since I only use it to call.

I recently started using the texting, but it is painfully slow to use this flip phone to send a text. But not bad for receiving one.

I respectfully disagree. Using my phone the way I do is a huge timesaver.

I assume you’re referring to games and social media when you talk about it being a time waster. But there’s so much more, all of which increases my efficiency and saves me time.

As one example, the use of my Banking app allows me to make deposits via my phone. So because I don’t have to drive to the bank to make a deposit, it saves time and gas too.

Another example. When Ron first had his accident and needed 24/7 care and I was afraid to leave him alone, I was able to order our groceries and have them delivered to our door with one app, access meal delivery with another, use his patient portal online to verify meds and upcoming appointments, request prescription refills, send pics of his surgery incision to his doctor when I thought it might be a bit too inflamed.

I could go on with many more examples. Used appropriately, a phone is a huge timesaver.

Ronni,
Thanks for the comment.

All of my deposits are automatically deposited to my account. I verify with my desk top PC as needed. I have ordered groceries using our phone at home also. Works fine... and I don't get interrupted by a phone hanging off my hip...
but to each his or her own.

I am not trying to be critical. I am just stating the way I choose to do it...

I have a few friends who got rid of their phones and are some of happiest people I know. My phone doesn't get much use. It's off more than it's on.

Upon REALLY thinking it through, my cell phone only serves two important purposes for me. (1) When I'm away from the house, it replaces the once-ubiquitous pay phone if I need to make a call. (2) It provides me with telephone communication at home when the electrical power goes out. Pre-internet, our copper landline would continue to function during a power outage.

In essence, the cell phone created its own demand by driving out the alternatives.

I keep mine charged, and carry it with me when I'm away from home. It's a costly pain in the butt but, unfortunately, it's become a necessary pain in the butt.

I only know of 2 local people who still have landline phones. I got rid of mine 2 years ago when the price reached $130 a month.
