Has anyone seen a bottle like this?

If so, empty long ago.
When living in the mountains, I became acquainted with an ol' rancher.
Huge fellow
He enjoyed wrestling with me.....I didn't.

Anyway, one visit he pulled out this jug

Looked like this;

Only much more ancient looking.

Said he got it from a moonshiner ages ago
Some kind of whiskey
Never had the nerve to pop the cork and take a nip

Asked me if I'd join him

Talked about going blind

Told my wife to drive me home if that happened

Popped the cork
Took turns taking sniffs

We both took a generous slug

Quite the kick
coupled with that nice warm feeling going down

No real affect, but it instantly improved my driving skills
Happily, it was all dirt roads and logging roads 'tween our place and his ranch

Got home in record time......probably

We can't tell much from a pic. We can't feel it, what's it's made of, etc. But it does have a "sea" connection, and is primarily decorative. It does have a mark "Italy" on the bottom. It is in good condition. It doesn't look rather old.
Jees, I feel like I'm doing a bit from "Antiques Roadshow". What does the price at the bottom of the screen say?

My wife has had it for 35+ years, the outside of the bottle appears to be leather.

Does the interior smell like wine? It does not appear to be any aging on it so i question having it for 35 years and no tarnish on the tin or brass. I doubt there is value here but don't take my word for it.

LOL - I don't know what to tell you fmdog, what possible reason could I have for adding years to the bottle's age. It's a mystery I'm attempting to figure out, why in the world would I give misinformation?

No smell to the bottle.
