Have not seen any provisions for handicap access in new vaccination locations!

Th latest site which will be used after appointments are given to the over 75s here is the concourse of a really huge arena. I sent a letter to the local paper yesterday stating that many over 75 have at least some mobility issues with standing and walking and many are using canes or walkers (as I do), and I haven’t seen any provision for handicapped at the sites. I looked at the pix and wondered how in the world I was going to navigate that.

Not only that, the handful of vaccination sites in my county are all at least 6 miles from the senior community where I live. There are about 8,500 residents right here within my community, all over 55. And we have a doctors' office building right here. I called yesterday and asked if they would be giving the vaccine there, and was told no, because the building has to be very cold, and that building is not cold enough.

Of course, she was referring to the need for refrigerating the vaccine itself, not the patients. But I guess reading the second paragraph of her instructions would have been too hard. I presume she was a phone clerk, not one of the nurses. But still, I'm just as glad I won't be getting my shot with them!
