Who remembers the events of Sep 19, 1961?
Barney and Betty Hill were an American couple who claimed they were abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of the state of New Hampshire from September 19 to September 20, 1961.
The so called, "Hill Abduction" and the "Zeta Reticuli Incident" because the couple stated they had been kidnapped by aliens who claimed to be from the Zeta Reticuli system.

Ah, the weekly "Have we been visited by Aliens?" thread. :D

My opinion has evolved over the years. I used to believe all the conspiracy theory tripe about how the government was hiding dead aliens and all kinds of 'information' yada yada. I'm so sick of how conspiracy theories are destroying the psyche of the human race. I don't even believe the JFK conspiracy theories anyone, I think it was just the lone nut- Lee Harvey Oswald, and not the CIA, LBJ or Nixon that were involved.
 
Some seem to believe in alien visitors, but I believe that is highly unlikely given the enormous distances between stars in just our galaxy. Any entities sufficiently advanced, and they likely exist, could construct objects to travel between stars and would almost certainly dispatch such devices piloted by what we might call Artificial Intelligence, and instructed to report back what if anything they find. That might explain sightings such as this…

I've been aware of the Betty & Barney Hill story for decades. My son and I watched a documentary about their abduction, which was compelling. I believe them because back then, no interracial couple in their right minds would have wanted to call unnecessary attention to themselves. They were both pillars in their community, responsible people who lived normal lives. They were regressed after reporting being abducted and some of the their blocked memories came to light.

There have been hundreds of thousands of UFO sightings over the decades, some by famous people, even historical figures. In some instances, there were hundreds of people seeing the same thing, including at least two Governors. Before he became president, Jimmy Carter saw a UFO in the presence of others. When he took office, he tried his best to institute full disclosure, but was blocked at every turn. If even only 1% are legitimate, then yes, we've been visited. I invite the skeptics to check out UFOs and the Whitehouse (Hulu) and I Know What I Saw (Amazon Prime).

Discovery+ has the Hill documentary and Amazon Prime apparently has a series based on their story. Here's the full doc on YT.

I wonder why those who were abducted were not able to bring back anything aboard the ship that Earth Scientists could analyze?
 
Barney & Betty along with their psychiatrist had a long career as paid speakers. To date, there is no evidence corroborating any part of their story. It's amazing how these advance beings from Zeta Reticula were using 1960s technology.
Personally, even with 'worm holes' and magic carpets, interstellar travel makes past alien visits incredibly unlikely. While we humans believe we are apex animals, and worthy of any expense to visit us, I think real aliens might have a different view point.

What do you know about what aliens think? I mean how do we stack up to all the other apex animals in the universe. Are we in the upper quadrant or the lower quadrant? How do we compare? You claim you know a lot about how aliens think. So, I'd like to know more about what they think. What do they think of black holes?

The posibilites are endless once engaged with your imagination. I think the planting of a seed no matter how outrageous it seems can be spread about to a level of reality for those who immerse themselves into the teachings of the almighty seed.
 
Well, I don't know of any actual evidence. It's all anecdotal. Until there is evidence, there's no reason to believe.

That said, I cannot fathom life doesn't exist out there somewhere. In fact, I'm totally convinced it's out there.

Since none of us mortals really know, I'd say that's not too farfetched. The whole thing with super-powered deities that have assistants(angels) and antagonists that are evil... ascending/descending to & from the skies...all of these characters could very well be aliens that are "playing house" with us Earthlings. Anyone ever read DC Comics? ;)
