"A convicted mass shooter's mother will take the stand again Friday in her own criminal trial, a case that raises precedent-setting questions for the rest of the nation about a parent's responsibility to stop a murderous child.

Jennifer Crumbley, the first parent in America charged with involuntary manslaughter in a mass school shooting, in Thursday testimony sought to portray herself as an involved, loving mother. Prosecutors will get their chance to question her Friday.

Prosecutors have argued she knew her son Ethan was struggling with alarming mental health issues, including on the day he killed four children at his Michigan high school in November 2021. She and her husband are accused of buying the shooter the gun he used rather than getting him help, and then fleeing afterward."

Kids are not tiny adults. They have kids' brains, and go through developmental stages. While it's impossible to know exactly what is going on inside another human, there are symptoms that are hard to ignore, and that you don't have to be a trained psychiatrist to notice. If your kid has anger issues, you don't go out and buy him a weapon. If your kid is a fire bug, you don't buy him matches.
Until your kid is 18, you are responsible for his actions, and the reason is he's a kid, and he's yours.

Well I've watched some of it.. I don't really need to watch it to know she's guilty... why else would she and her husband have absconded..? they fled after clearing out their bank accounts, and even their son's account, and when they were found holed up in a warehouse, they had all the cash, and 4 burner phones ...for why ?

She knew her son had a mental health issues, and obsessed with guns.. yet she bought him a gun and even went shooting with him...

The mother was herself so obsessed with guns.. she wrote to Trump in 2016 thanking him for supporting her right to bear arms.

The defence lawyer is a young mother , and she has made this personal... very unprofessional, and even cried in court, and spends half the time cuddling the defendant...... I feel that she's worried the same thing might happen to her one day...which makes me wonder if.. members of the jury will think the same thing in this first case of it's kind.. and find her not guilty..in case the same thing were to occur in their own lives..

I think the parents should be tried for neglect. What the jury decides, whatever it is, this case will go through another, and possible another trial. In the mean time, it might give lacky parents something to ponder. You had the little people now you need to take care of them, and guide them to become safe and productive adults. Not force, but guide. Constantly...with love.

Who in their right mind buys a 9mm handgun for a 15 year old to use.

I agree with @hollydolly . The mother and father will be found guilty. If they felt they didn't do anything wrong, they wouldn't have cleaned out bank accounts and fled.
Such actions as clearing out the bank accounts and fleeing, indicate a "guilty mind " in most courts, and more importantly in the minds of the Jurors. The prosecutors will hammer that set of facts, for sure, in their cross examination questioning of the parents. JimB.

When son was teenager,, he got paid with a gun by the person he had done some work for.

Very astute. Not only that, but I heard it was a warning for parents that they too can be blamed for their child's actions and All Americans would be better off with a Not Guilty verdict for that very reason.

The gun was locked up till he was of age to be responsible, 21.

Yes,, I think both parents failed their son.
Could they not see he was troubled?

Guess they had their minds on themselves?
Ironically enough, they had/have horses which they stable with someone else. the owner of the stables said unequivocally that they were far more interested in the horses than they were in their son... and on the odd occasion that the mother spoke of her son, it was to say he was a problem, and that she had issues with his mental health...
