Have You Bought Anything for YOURSELF This Christmas?

Yes! Since my husband started a small kitchen fire and burnt our old kitchen cupboards we are building a brand new kitchen. This week we are putting in the ceramic floor, then my husband is moving our sink so doing some plumbing. Then we are going to purchase the bottom cupboards, put in a backsplash , add the top cupboards and move the ceiling fan. It’s a lot of work but I’m so glad those old cupboards got ruined enough to need new ones. 🥰 😅
I just happened to see this...just finished new kitchen cabinets for our daughter...new counter top...new floor. ..
my husband built it all from old barn wood...it took him 4 months to saw and prepare all the wood....
the sink will be next and all that area...she's over the moon tho!

I'm well past the acquisition phase of my life, have moved through the stable possessions portion, and am into a time of purging duplicates and things we just don't use anymore.

Like others here, I buy for hubby and me as the needs arise. We don't exchange gifts between us, just with the kids. Every year I beg them to only give us things we can use up or that are experiential (like movie tix). As per the usual with kids, sometimes they listen and sometimes they don't. ;)

I may upgrade my Smartphone nothing too fancy just to an updated Galaxy Android. My existing one has a thin crack in it and it's not affecting it but it would cost more to repair it and it's three years old. So...may treat myself. Need new pyjamas and will look in M&S fior these as I like their merchandise.

I have not treated myself as yet --but I will do 'lol -- may buy a silver charm for my silver bracelet ..
I have a gold charm bracelet, and since my daughter first bought it for me over 20 years ago, every Christmas she always buys me a new charm for it.. it's not a big heavy chunky 70's style bracelet, it's a very fine gold delicate bracelet so the charms are all tiny, but really unique.. I still have the last 3 charms to get fitted on.. 🥰

I did that last Christmas , upgraded to the iphone x (10)... I can't believe that was a whole year ago...

I needed a new clock radio, but I went a little overboard:
Bose® Wave® Music System IV With CD Player & Touch Controls - Metallic

I never had a charm bracelet, but I bet it would be a bonanza of memories. I bet you remember when and why your daughter gave you each one. Priceless!

I am a Gift Giver....I don't want anything for Christmas and Birthday....But the family always has to give me gifts....At my age, I don't need
anything....They won't give up!!!! So this year I told them to give me a flower.....

My sister in law and brother always brings me sweaters......I DON'T WANT ANYTHING.... So I know they will do it anyway, so I have to think
of something to get them....I also give Christmas and Birthday gifts to their 5 young Grand Kids
.....Also give Christmas and Birthday gifts to my
husband's Cousin's kiddies....That will be 4 boys and a girl....It get's out of hands!!!! But I love all of them....

I decided this year my kids,, who I give money every Christmas and Birthday's...I can't walk around the store and try to get them clothes...
Except my son, my husband bought him something for the house....

I've asked my family not to buy me "smellies", those never ending hand and body lotions gels and soaps etc. I am awash with them from previous years but do use them eventually. I need a new perfume called Ghost so hope to get a bottle. If not I will treat myself to one

We love those hand lotions....My husband uses them all the time....I just bought 15 of them for gifts for the girls....They love them!!!

Here's probably the "silliest" gift anyone has bought for themselves - a new electric pencil sharpener!

I got tired of those cheap little ones that only sharpen one side of the pencil, so I splurged about $15 on a super hi-tech electric one! Best of all, it can be plugged in, or runs on batteries. Just insert the pencil, and it gets sharpened to a nice point, which believe it or not, is even on all sides! One of the nicest gifts I ever bought myself!

(Amazon, of course.)
