Have you ever been addicted to Soap Opera's

The Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful,,,,OH MY!!!! Prior to the Plandemic, Y&R was ahead of B&B but now.. B&B is leading the pack..LOL. However, Y&R is trying to catch up.🤣

Never addicted, but I watched Days Of Our Lives when my son was a baby. It was feeding time.

Later, I watched a lot of Sesame St. and The Electric Co. I loved that hour with my little boy. Morgan Freeman was a character on The Electric Co. Morgan and Rita Moreno were better than the soaps.

Some years ago there was a cable channel called SoapNet that played soaps nonstop. I got addicted to reruns of Ryan's Hope. Anyone remember it? It wasn't glitzy like many other soaps and starred the wonderful Helen Gallagher as Maeve Ryan.

Have to admit that I got hooked on two 'Soaps' back in the late 80's/90's.
One was 'Coronation Street' and the other was 'EastEnders'.
Thought they were well written and the characters caught my attention.
These were aired on BBC 1 and ITV

Recently started streaming 'Coronation Street' (newer one) on Filmrise and I'm enjoying it.

Now I can understand my mom ironing clothes, watching 'As the World Turns' when I was a wee one.

When my first husband and I were married, we moved in with my mother-in-law to take care of her. She was in her mid-80s and needed help.

She went to a bridge club every week, and one of my jobs was to take notes on her soaps (Days of Our Lives and Another World). I went up really high in her estimation because I took verbatim notes -- pages and pages of them. I also got hooked on the shows. When we moved out, we lived only a mile away, so I went to see her every day. Not because of the soaps, although she did enjoy having company to watch them with her.

Yes, I used to watch General Hospital and One Life to Live every day and started when I was 15. I watched them for many years and then one day I said to myself "This is too depressing!" and quit watching them altogether.

Recently I have watched Days of Our Lives-just a few episodes to see one of the actors who used to be a member of our family. That person seems to be doing pretty well. Not giving any names out.

I've never watched the more traditional Soap Operas, but when I was a kid I watched Dark Shadows. I guess it was considered a Soap Opera in it's time. It came on at 4pm. I still remember that.

I watched Coronation Street from the start, took a break for a few years in the 70's but still watch it today. If I do not like the story line I just fast forward.

I use to watch All My Children back in high school. I think I got out of school at noon so I could hurry home and watch it. Senior year.

Was still watching it years later...not anymore.

Not at all, but I had a couple of friends who'd drop everything and watch 2 or 3 every afternoon regardless. Then they'd sit around and talk about the people in these shows as if they knew them personally. I thought they were nuts.

Back in my 20s and 30s, All My Children and One Life to Live. I decided they were contributing to me becoming brain dead for 2 hours every day so I quit them altogether.
I remember Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman...it was hilarious!
Prime time soaps I watched were Dallas and 90210. Remember when people had a fit when the president preempted TV during the Dallas TV time slot?
