This was a (single-company) appliance store.
but I don't think they can 'compare/compete)' come close to in price
"the big box store" ( Home Depot)

What do you think?
 
I get an invite for an appliance store called "Goemans" once in a while, only because I did purchase from them in the past.
I was fortunate enough to have a connection to one of the store managers at the time.

I have never gone to the so called "Special Events"
 

Sort of. I got a letter about a private piano sale from my alma mater about 27 years ago. The sale was only for the university's faculty, staff and students (past and current). I took advantage of the sale and traded in my acoustic piano for my first Clavinova, a digital piano with several hundred instrument sounds and rhythms. I wound up composing and recording music for my album releases. I guess I could say it was a good deal. I was able to trade that as partial payment for a much more expensive model years later.
