Years ago I was attempting to get rid of an unwanted bee hive in the back yard of my employer when several of them attacked me and stung my face. ended up with 5 bee stings.
As a 14 year old I sat on a bull ant nest and got multiple bites. Bull Ants are the biggest ones? That hurt real bad

I had a few bee stinks from going barefoot all the time, but nothing bad. This year we had a hive of yellow jackets homesteading on our porch rail for months. They didn't leave until about a week ago. The queen may still be down in there.

Lots. I kept honey bees for a while. First ones I had were gentle & generally placid. Later I had a strain that were irritable. But all in all, I probably received not more than 10-12 stings from honey bees.

I had a hornet sting when I was about 11.

Doing chores around my current home & property, particularly exterior home improvement, I've probably had 12-15 wasp stings over a few decades.

When I was just a small child in a children' home... soon after I arrived, older kids caught some bees in a tin, and then emptied them down the back of my dress.....

When I was a young mum my friend and I were walking through the meadow with the children.. I was wearing a short skirt and top.. and a hornet flew up my skirt and stung the top of my leg. I passed out...If my friend hadn't seen what happened I wouldn't have known what got me...it was horrendous pain..

My ex B-i-l... is a strapping 6' 6... but he runs fast if there's bees or wasps around. He carries an Epipen because without it he is so highly allergic, he could die within 20 minutes of a sting..

Yes and it burned like crazy! I was vending at an outdoor event. I wear long dresses and skirts and had on one that day. I was even sitting down at the table. That fresh a*s bee flew up my dress and stung me! I immediately needed assistance it burned so bad. The church ladies hurried and got ice for me. I had to go sit in a private area and ice my thigh. 😫

@hollydolly When I was young I had a best friend who was deathly afraid of bees. We were walking down the street one day when a bee came near us. That girl did a broad jump sideways into the street. Thank God no car or bus was coming.

Yes. Several wasps at once. I had walked out my side door, and some wasps were flying around and I got stung several times. Did not hurt, just itchy for a bit
Once I had multiple wasp stings, and those ones hurt. We had a tarp over a 10ftx10ft shallow compost bin. I lifted it off in the summer, and wasps had gotten under it and made a nest, several flew up at once and stung me under my chin. A hazard of living in the country, or maybe even for some folks with a back yard.

I was yard sale-ing (?) one day and when I jumped in my car to go to the next sale I leaned against a bee. It stung me of course and I got really dizzy and almost fainted. I figured I was allergic or something and have been very careful around bees ever since.

I've never been stung by a wasp or hornet but have been stung by a bee twice. Once I was at a party and felt something itchy on my back. When I got home and changed out of my dress a dead bee fell out. Ditto to the bee who stung me on the toe at a picnic. Dead. I'm delicious but venomous. :ROFLMAO:

My 7 yo was stung 7 times in the armpit and neck by wasp(s) at a motel near the St Lawrence Seaway in NY. That was her first exposure to a bee or wasp sting and given my experience I had her loaded and ready to roll should she have gone into shock.

The owners lived on site so I explained what happened and showed them several wasp nests on their buildings. The next day they had exterminators on site.

Big difference between bees and wasps. Bees normally will not sting unless you molest their nest. Many wasps will sting if you get within 8 ft of a nest. We really need the bees for pollination! Wasps serve a purpose too, but I will take my chances and eliminate them around my house.

The exception are the Africanized bees that have killed people. I would use a flame thrower on their nest! But one of the few benefits of our 5+ months of winter is that these bees are nowhere to be found by us.

How killer bees can kill a human
