Have you ever eaten cod fish tongues?

Have not tried these, but did have Whitefish livers at a Bayfield, WI restaurant. Not very good - edible thanks to the breading, but a slightly off “old fish” taste. Then I saw some exotic foods reality TV show where the host ate the exact same entree at the exact same restaurant and exclaimed how good it was - another example of all the lies involved with reality TV!

Maybe he really liked them.

Haven't tried that but wish when I was stationed in Newfoundland that I could have. Not really tongue but the meat of the lower jaw. Like every thing else prep can make the difference in how one perceives the taste.

I guess he might of liked them as they maybe used fresh livers for him and I got the older frozen livers - I definitely tasted “old fish” as I have caught and eaten many different fish and I know old fish.. Maybe “lies” is a bit strong, but there is much misrepresentation in reality TV in general - the staged situations passed off as authentic are a pet peeve of mine.

Have you ever eaten cod fish tongues?

I was watching the movie, Braven, set on the Canadian Island of Newfoundland.
The cafe menu has Cod Tongues for $15.99
Have you ever tried them?
How are they cooked?
No, I haven't eaten cod fish tongues but I'd give them a try. Why not? 😜

My husband LOVES fish tongues. He’s from Newfoundland and started cutting out cod tongues when he was 12. How are they cooked? They are fried. I don’t eat them.

Note: my husband says the next time he cooks them I’ll take photos and show you them.

Cod-Yes
Fish-Well, cod is a type of fish so yes along with many others type of fish.
Tongue-Uh, I've nibbled a few but that's another story.

I have never had the tongue of a cod though. I don't think I would it something I would try.
