I was just reading our local Neighbourhood app.. and someone wrote this... Quote

''And there I was walking in the street on a sunny Good Friday and the phone rang. “Good morning this is The Carphone Warehouse “. I replied that I didn’t need a phone and as this was an unsolicited call then I could report the company and they may get a large fine.

Car phone Warehouse replied “f### off you wan#er“.

I have to admit this was the worst telemarketing call I’ve ever had.''

Can anyone better this?

A friend, who normally doesn’t even swear, became annoyed and swore at one. He called her back and took a nasty strip off her. Actually kind of scary when you think about it. This was early days before we all had call display.
Since this and realizing they have our phone numbers and probably our location, I’m extra cautious about how I deal with anyone. It seems like there are too many nut cases out there.

Not that I know of, I hang up before the caller has the chance to answer.

As soon as I realize its a sales call I interrupt with a loud "Put me on your no call list" and immediately hang up.

Have you ever had terrible customer service ..

The question should be "Have you ever NOT had terrible customer service .."

Seriously though, I never have the occasion to actually speak with phone solicitors. My Android cell phone automatically marks and deletes spam calls, and I never pick up the bloody landline, unless caller ID shows my son calling, or if my wife is out and calling.

We lived in a small town an hour and a half from here, all the towns businesses seemed to feel entitled to our money. More than once I asked about something to be told an inflated price. I'd complain about the price and was told "Where else are you gonna buy it?", My answer to that was "anywhere but here!".

I would have said the same thing...what a cheek !

Got a call from my bank, which has recently changed hands. She was a perky young thing, and wondered if I had time to chat. Chat about what, exactly? My account. Did I have any questions? Nope. Just dandy, thanks. She seemed rather unfocused if you ask me. Insai thanks, and goodbye.

Our land line is only used if I accidentally set off our home alarm when entering the door. Then I plug it in so the monitoring company can call me and I can tell them it was a mistake. 🤣

I don't get many of these solicitation calls on my cell phone and my ringer is always on Silent. If I don't recognize a phone number I block it. If I miss a call from someone legitimate I call them back. Most people text me anyway.

My only experience with terrible customer service is when we've been seated in a restaurant and lots of time has gone by without anyone approaching us to order. We've just gotten up and left.
