Have you ever seen an angel, a ghost or any sort of celestial being?

I remember when my Grandson was 3yrs old, he is 20yrs old now , he said there was a girl living in their house named Colleen. When ever he was coming down the stairs he would bend his head because he said Colleen was flying over him. My Daughter in law did research on the house and found out that many years before they bought the house there had been a fire there and a little girl named Colleen had died in the fire. As time went by my grandson seemed to be getting afraid of Colleen. So one night my DIL walked through the house repeating the words "Colleen go into the light". After that my grandson never mentioned Colleen again. It really frightened me that he might have been really seeing the ghost of Colleen.
This reminds me of two things. I took a metaphysical course during which the instructor pointed out that children are more open to seeing spirits and experiencing the paranormal than adults. Unfortunately that ability may get squashed by adults who tell the child he is imagining things. The other thing is that when my granddaughter was younger, maybe about 7 or 8, she used to talk to Megan. Sometimes her mother would hear her saying Stop! Stop Megan. Her mom went from thinking it was an imaginary friend to thinking Megan was a real entity. And sometimes my granddaughter would do something naughty and say Megan told her to do it. So one night she, her mom and my son were her at my apartment. She did something, got scolded and said Megan told her to do it. So I scolded Megan. In my firmest voice, I said Megan, you always get (my granddaughter) in trouble. I am tired of it. Leave this house and leave her alone! Her mother told me weeks later that my granddaughter never spoke of Megan again. When I show my anger, people start ducking, so maybe spirits do to. LOL

When I was in high school, we lived in a rented house that was haunted. My older sister and I would hear footsteps at night in the hallway, but didn't see anyone. Once I saw a point of light in the darkened hallway. My younger sister said she saw the ghost...a woman. Don't remember if our parents talked about the ghost or not.

Told this his story before, but here goes.

I was 8 or 9 when these unexplainable things happened to me. I had a long walk in closet where I kept my clothes and most of my toys. This closet had the type of latch that you raised up ang the bar would fit in a groove. Impossible to open by itself.

I had an upstairs bedroom and the only light was moonlight that shown in my dormer window. Every night before I went to bed, I always looked into my closet and made sure the latch was shut. I could see the closet door from my bed and could see the outline of my room. One night, as I was about to fall asleep, I heard a slight noise. I had a small lamp on my bed stand as well as a Airline AM radio from Montgomery Ward. As I lit up the room, I noticed the closet door was open about 3 inches. I relatched the door and went back to bed.

Here is where it gets weird. A very bright light started coming through my dormer window and the closet door was open again. I saw something move across the room. What or who, I do not know. ET, shadow person or ghost.....I still have no idea but it did scare the day lights out of me. This was the start of my sleeping with my head covered up. I don't recall this happening again, but I did add two more bolt locks on the closet door.

Sassy...my granddaughter used to say she had a friend named Megan when she was young. Her mother said she would pass by her room and sometimes hear her say Megan...STOP! She spoke of her often. One night they were here and GD did something naughty. She got scolded and told us that Megan told her to do it.

Now it's well known amongst my family and friends that nobody wants to mess with me and especially not make me angry. I guess the same can be said for spirits. I said in a firm voice "Megan..leave "J" alone! You have gotten her in trouble. Don't bother her again! Her mother told me that after that, "J" never mentioned being bothered by Megan again.

Just saw this Pappy! Eerie story indeed. I can imagine it was frightening for you, especially at that age.

I don't think that I have ever seen a ghost, but maybe
in another way.

When we think of somebody that we haven't seen or
heard from for many years, then they suddenly pop
into your mind, I have always said that they have just
died and are saying goodbye, I only got proof of my
theory once, so maybe it just a fancy, in my head.

Mike.

When I was about eleven years old, I was coming home from running an errand for my mother. We lived in an apartment building and our place was on the third floor. I was using the back hallways stairs. I had passed the second floor neighbor's door and was climbing the flight leading to the third floor, when for some reason, I looked back. there, standing in front of our second floor neighbor's back door, was a figure.

The figure was blurred, and dressed in what looked like some kind of long robe, pale blue. She wore a head dress too, sort of like what a nun would wear. She had her head bowed, as if praying. I stared at her for a long time but didn't feel fear, just intense curiosity. Then I ran up the stairs to fetch my mother. But of course when we returned, the figure was no longer there.

Some of that phenomena could simply be Satan's way of propagating that first lie that he used in Eden.
Genesis 3:4 ā–ŗ
ā€œYou will not certainly die,ā€ the serpent said to the woman.

Also, there is a very fine line between what is actually being seen, and what is being imagined. After all, the brain is very capable of producing vivid imagery indistinguishable from real things.

Visual

A visual hallucination is "the perception of an external visual stimulus where none exists".[32] A separate but related phenomenon is a visual illusion, which is a distortion of a real external stimulus. Visual hallucinations are classified as simple or complex:

  • Simple visual hallucinations (SVH) are also referred to as non-formed visual hallucinations and elementary visual hallucinations. These terms refer to lights, colors, geometric shapes, and indiscrete objects. These can be further subdivided into phosphenes which are SVH without structure, and photopsias which are SVH with geometric structures.
  • Complex visual hallucinations (CVH) are also referred to as formed visual hallucinations. CVHs are clear, lifelike images or scenes such as people, animals, objects, places, etc.
For example, one may report hallucinating a giraffe. A simple visual hallucination is an amorphous figure that may have a similar shape or color to a giraffe (looks like a giraffe), while a complex visual hallucination is a discrete, lifelike image that is, unmistakably, a giraffe.

BTW I had a visual hallucination of this huge lizard sitting on top of my bedroom bureau. I blinked several times and it was gone.

Back in the day when my kitchen faucet was so worn out we had to turn it on with pliers, I was fussing to myself about it while cleaning the stairs and got myself in a real bad mood. Suddenly, the odor of peppermint and beer began filling the staircase.

My dad used to chew Beechnut Peppermint gum and drank beer by the case, so that odor was very familiar. My dad never let anything like my faucet happen. He'd have put in a new one before anyone complained about it. It was nice to know that he was still around, but it made me sad too.

I told him that it's OK, go back and rest, I'll get it fixed. The odor went away and that's about as far as I want my experience to go. I have no desire to see spirits or invite them to hang around. My mother would often have the priest come to bless our house because of "activity". Don't want to have to deal with that anymore.

One Thanksgiving my husb and I went to a diner in a nearby town for our meal. The diner was very crowded. An octogenarian saw us and invited us to share her booth. She was animated and quite corgial.

This woman was like a reincarnation of my mother, the way she ate her meal, just ate the pumpkin out of her pie and did not eat the crust, her voice was just like my mother.

She finished and left, we finished our meal and when I got to the car, I just broke down sobbing, like I had been visited by my deceased mother. I will never forget the eerie feeling that I had been visited by her.

As a child of approx. four, I once saw this roach that was as big as a horse in my aunt's bedroom. In was leaning up against the side of the room's left side wall with its front legs. I remember backing away in fear and hiding. Then I heard my aunt speak in the room, took a nervous look, and the beast was gone.

As a child of twelve, I saw this human form limping towards me in the darkness as I was fleeing from my aunt's threatening voodoo like antics. The figure' had what seemed like three long curved horns protruding from its skull. Later when still a child, I saw a dish on the dinner table begin to rotate. I ran out to the building's hallway in fear, and peaked in cautiously, and it was still rotating. I didn't dare to go back in until it stopped.

I believe I've seen ghosts a few times and angels twice. The ghosts would disappear as soon as they saw me staring at them.

The angels never spoke but one of them did smile at me. The other helped me when my car got stuck on the road in a snowstorm. he helped me get out. He never said a word. When I got out, i rolled down the window to thank him but he was gone without a trace or any foot prints in the snow. That's what makes me believe he was an angel. Both of my angel experiences happened in difficult weather.

A friend of mine bought an old home where an elderly female owner was shot and killed in circa 1910. His seven year old son kept talking about an old lady in his room. The son loved to draw so my friend asked him to draw a picture of her. He then got in touch with family members of the murder victim who gave him contact info for a family genealogist. She had several photos of the victim and the son's drawing was very obviously the lady who was murdered, basic features, hairstyle and blouse of the era.

My family lived in a haunted house for several years. I was a teenager and it was sort of an experience that prepared me for growing up. One ghost, we heard it walking around at night. On occasion, a pinpoint light could be seen in the hallway at night. My sister said she saw a woman. Not harmful at all, we got used to it.

I was always "attracted" to my Aunt Nettie, who died in childhood in the 1920s. In September, 1974, I went to a psychic at a fair. It was a remarkable encounter which I hope I never forget. One of the revelations was my aunt, identified as my mother's sister by the psychic, who was like a guardian angel who watched over me. Her name, the psychic said, was Anna.

A death certificate unearthed her given name at birth was Anna. Even my mother did not know this. My mother called her Nettie, and didn't know that was not her given name. Her mother, Grandma Rose, always referred to her lost daughter as Nettie.

The rest of this meeting revealed so much, so much that was true. Everything this old lady told me was true. There were absolutely no prompts from me, I made sure to have no reactions, asked no leading questions, just listen. She had so much to say. Thank goodness I still remember this event in its entirety.

PS. Her 'predictions' came true, unfortunately.

I have seen a dead person as a child but I don’t remember it. My mother always told me about it.
When I was very young, my father’s brother who was very close with our family died.
My mother said that I was talking with someone in the kitchen and she asked me who I was talking to. I answered, ā€œUncle Frankā€. My mother asked, ā€œWhat is he doing?ā€ and I told her he was leaning against the counter in a particular way that he always leaned there. I told her that he said, ā€œTell your mother and father not to cry anymore. I’m OK.ā€

I've seen an angel, come to think of it. It was the year that my doctor told me that surgery was needed to remove a mass that they had found. I was terrified, expecting the worst. I came home and decided to nap but all I could do was lay there worrying. I had started to doze off, when I suddenly opened my eyes because of a bright light. I have black out drapes in my bedroom so no sunlight could get in and I was puzzled about what was making this light.

On the ceiling, over my bed was the face of an angel. Then I realized that I was only looking at his face. He had a rather stern expression, and I saw that he had long blond hair and I also saw the top of one folded wing. He was so tall that the image went from over my bed to down the bedroom wall, meaning that if he was standing upright he would have been at least twelve feet tall.

I gazed at the angel, slowly realizing what I was seeing, and was surprised that I wasn't at all alarmed or amazed. There was a calm acceptance, and I realized that everything was going to be fine. And it was. The mass was benign!

Claude was with us for 20+ years. He would turn the music up and the lights down. You called him out and he would fix it. We had a small pretty paper box we put out with lid off and let him know in advance when moving day was. His box got a moving box and was on the manifest. He moved on when we lived in Birmingham, AL. Got too settled for his taste:)
