I read that one recently in a column about the homeless problem ( or should I say the unhoused?) anyway it was sad because all the local government's ideas about projects to help them met with the NIMBY answer.NIMBY is a fairly common acronym. Yes, I've used it. Never heard of YIMBY.
Speaking of not being able to make stuff up...I saw a campaign slogan for a politician a few years back (forgot what he was running for). His name was the nickname for Richard and if I posted the button here (yes, they had the nerve to put the slogan on a button!!) it would probably be deleted because it bordered on obscene. Ya have to wonder, what genius thought of that one?!Also in Canada years ago the Conservative Party was trying to unite with the Reform Party to unify the right.
At the Convention, the new Party name they all came up with was "The Conservative Reform Alliance Party".
Well, everyone was all smug and happy until somebody pointed out that the acronym was actually "C.R.A.P."
Ahh, you can't make this stuff up, folks!
BYOB is a deal breaker for meNo on NIMBY, YIMBY & MYOB but yes on BYOB

No, I don't use them. I've used BYOB... and I use WTH and WTF, only because using the whole F word is frowned upon. It gets the message across. Other than that I use actual words.Have you ever used either of the following (statements)..& for what?
N I M B Y...( Not In My Back Yard)
Or
Y I M B Y...(Yes In My Back Yard)
How Did it work out?![]()
