Have you given your car a name?

My first car came with a great name. Costs was only 68 extra for the double banner on each side of car. Superb!

Second car was a Mustang, so twas our wee horse or sometimes Appaloosa as twas grey in colour.

Minivan was named Blackberry from the colour. Afterwards, we gave up. Haven't had a car since 2011 but currently can't afford one. I'm saving for mopeds or scooters either the petrol kind of electric. In the distant future for now lol!

i never named a car but sister had a "Dolly" Datsun and a "Nanette" Nissan several years ago.

Yes, 250 .030 chevy six in the 03. (a 36 chevy body).
There was a re-worked 240 Ford six in the 48 Ford body coil over car.
The 302 was actually a .040 chevy DZ motor in my much modified 36 chevy coupe. Ran it in NY and also at Rebel speedway in Canada.

Interesting motor that 240 that I ran in the 48 coupe. Since there was a cubic inch rule, I couldn't use the 300, so, I Started with a 240 block, bored .030, crammed 351 2bbl pistons, (had to mill .030 off the tops), isky cammed it. The original head was ported and had 429 ford intake valves, and 427 chevy exhaust valves. Rockers were 1.7 big block chevy. Later, after seeing one on a dragster. I built one of those cyl. heads that was 2 boss 302 heads cut and furnace welded to fit the six banger. That allowed for weber carbs and later, injection on one side, and the exhaust out the other. Those were great times back when a man could experiment and try different things.

The CVM rules allowed this set up with the Chevy 250 block. A 194 head ( smaller combustion chamber gained a couple of points of compression ) 202 intake valves, from a FI head, roller cam, forged pistons and rods, 7 quart oil pan, Holley 4212 carb, aviation gas, 58 percent left side weight, with a 2400 pound minimum all up weight. Four wheel disc brakes, king pin front end , Mustang rack and pinion steering, quick change rear end, with a 12 gallon fuel tank. All metal body, pre 1948 North American made. Spec tire was a G 60 15 inch Road King, That was in the 80's. Now the club allows either a built 250 inline six, or a V8 GM crate motor, with a 2 barrel, and it has to be sealed by one of the Ontario GM performance dealers. CVM goes al the way back to 1951, at the Canadian Exhibition Grounds stadium in Toronto, as The Hobby Club, with stock inline sixes. CVM is on it's 4th generation of drivers and car owners. Certain family names keep showing up to race. JimB.

I no longer have a car but I called my first car "The Bullet". At the time I worked for what used to be called the VD clinic and the syphilis cure used to be called The Magic Bullet. That coupled with the shape and color of my car is why I gave it that name. This is an internet picture that looks just like my first car, an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.

I "pet" my son's car and talk to it so as to encourage it to run smoothly, especially when he got it back after having extensive and expensive repairs done. I tease him saying it's my grand car.
