Have you grown out of telling lies?

I try not to. I try not to say anything at all instead of lying. But in summer, it is difficult. I don't like sunny, warm weather. I like rainy, cold weather or snow. So in summer, everyone I meet, neighbors, strangers all say, "Oh, isn't this weather wonderful?" and I just say yes rather than say no, I actually don't like this weather.

[ They're the tricky ones aren't they ...]
[ I sometimes wish I'd told a white lie or two when I've told the truth and upset someone or caused them distress. ]

Saying what ya think is a brutal confession. haha Unfortunately that is what I most often do.
Of course my feelings get hurt more often than not. People usually don't want to hear what
makes sense, is meant well with no harm intended.

I have this face, which everybody can read like a book. People tell me exactly what I'm thinking-sometimes word for word. In person, if I lie, everybody knows it. And when others become aware of that, it's a real pain. So, I pretty much can't lie- not that I don't want to.

I stopped lying in high school because I couldn't keep track of what I said to whom. Not saying I never drop a lie, but it's usually from my own confusion of what is taking place. I get flustered easily sometimes.

I have a long time friend who often cannot handle the truth. I find I lie to her once in a while because I dont want to hurt her feelings. But I have caught her in many lies to me. She only has one other friend ,who feeds her that urban legend crap.

Many who used to be friends with her do not get involved with her anymore. She has not see a doctor in about 40 years.
She used to call me and tell me about some medical problems she has but the first thing she would say is 'please dont tell me to call a doctor.'She gave me a reason she does not trust doctors but the reason is not a valid one.

This reminds me of the recent thread here on'if people come into our lives for a reason'- I think that is true. I am willing to put up with her but I know she needs someone with common sense to talk to. I made it clear to her that these urban legends are ridiculous and the other friend she has, is constantly telling her ridiculous crap, because if that woman gets her to believe this stuff, than that woman has gained control over her. She has not shared with me any urban legend crap since then. :giggle:

It was the one about the National Emergency Test ( which is on TV every year for a few minutes) and her friend said everyone was supposed to put their cell phones into a microwave because the test could contaminate them.

Have you grown out of lives? No I have mastered the art of lying.
