Have You Had The Heat On Yet ??

I haven't turned on heat yet though there were a couple days that I really wanted to. I cannot remember what I usually set it to in the winter. I wonder if we had a thread about that last winter, if so, maybe I can skip having to experiment.

I live at a high elevation in NY and usually I turn the heater on to cycle once, even in the summer , so that I can take a shower in a warm bathroom, as I get up at 5 AM most mornings. But lately it has been on until it gets to about 65 outside. It has been very rainy ,chilly ,and damp here all week and
yet when the sun does comes out a little, the beauty of Fall is brighter in the wonderful color of the trees.

I got my flu shot Tuesday and knew I might have aches and pains from, it on Wednesday- but I fell asleep with the heat up and even left the TV on and I woke up at about 2 AM and it was too hot so turned the heat way down-and turned TV off-and hope I dont do that again- heat is too expensive to waste.

The only side affects I ever get from shots is the Flu Quadevalent (sp)and the shingles booster. Just aches and pains the next day that go away but I always stay home the next day because it can cause fatigue as well.

I have turned on the heated towel rail in my bathroom, keeping the door closed, it gives out enough heat to warm the bathroom

I’ve also started to use a halogen heater now the evenings are getting chilly, before turning on the full central heating

No. Didn't have it on for the entirety of last year either. I don't often feel the cold. Like, it's 58F here right now, which is perfect weather to have all the windows wide open. I like a little nip in the air when it gets cold, it makes me feel alive.

Heat on the other hand I struggle with. I find it saps me, takes my energy away. Heat waves, with extreme heat, is terrible and I feel like I'm dying.

Not as of yet. It's usually about 72* in my house in the mornings lately. Weather has been so wacky, my only issue is trying to decide whether to turn my bedroom ceiling fan on or not.

Yesterday it go up to 92*, so I slept w/my fan on.

Yes, I have it set at 65, but it’s kicked in a few times. I have full view storm doors where I have to change out the glass and screens, so I always wait until I put the glass in. We’re having an unusual warm spell for a few days, so I have the patio door open.

Last couple of days, had the thermostat set to heat.
Well, eating supper just now and realized I was just about to break a sweat !!!
Checked the thermostat and it's 82 in house. Of course the heat hasn't come on all day.
It's been warmer out again today. Back to AC I guess. It's the back and forth time of year again.
yes a few nights when it went into the 30s and 40s
