Have you noticed yourself imitating any habits/foibles your parents had/have?

Yes. My father who is 95 has OCD. How our ocd manifests itself is completely different but the obsessions and compulsions are still very much there.

My mom was very sarcastic and cynical. I’m very sarcastic and cynical. Before being sarcastic and cynical, I was gullible and naive. If I had a choice between the two I’d rather be sarcastic and cynical. Being gullible and naive leads to extreme vulnerability. My mom was never vulnerable.

My mother was insane about no shoes in the house. I don't wear shoes in the house. This is very surprising. We also were supposed to wear slippers to "protect the carpet." We moved so much, bleep the carpet. I'm barefoot unless my feet are cold. If clean sheets or towels touched the floor. Disaster. Me, so what, who cares. Plus my cats love to roll in clean laundry for some reason.

My mother was so cheap sometimes. I'm surprised I like thrift stores. I guess it's a lot of the stuff I get that you couldn't get in stores anymore.

I very much take after my Father as I'd spent more time with him. He made me a "tomboy".

As for cooking, I'd heard from my maternal grandfather, that I very much cooked the way his Mother did, my beloved great-grand-mother Margaret.

From my Father, I used my hands a lot while talking, I've inherited his sense of humour and his storytelling ways. My archery style, canoe rowing and using/doing DIY.

Listening to a video daughter did of the snowfall the other day, it's heartwarming that she speaks very much as myself. She's inherited my sense of humour too. Her laugh and gesturing with her hands.

Papa used to say this, and now we both do ... "It's very much in the genes (implied jeans lol) 501s Red Tab 😂😂😂😂😂

NO !! I've spent a life time correcting myself if I ever find myself doing anything my parents did....
Wow, you said that with such emphasis! I'm sure there must be quite a stay there. I've kind of lived my life trying to be the opposite of my mom too but there have been a few times where I had this strangely uncomfortable sensation of sounding like her for just a moment.

I never thought I would be imitating or turning into my parents. But then when I met my estranged father a few years before he passed he also was showing a bizarre demeanor.
Schizophrenia is characterized by psychotic symptoms, which include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking and speech, and bizarre and inappropriate behavior.
Something to look into. Maybe I should take my SF posts along to a shrink?

Egad, more insects to worry about:
Erotomania. Erotomania refers to people who are deluded into thinking that someone else is in love with them but what makes this disorder especially bizarre is that the person who is supposedly in love with the sufferer is usually someone of much higher status than themselves-and often a celebrity.
