Have You Overcome Any Fears, Or Not

Have you ever had a serious fear of something? Does a it still cause you fear, or if not how did you overcome?
My fear is of being in a large body of water where I couldn't see land. I had many nightmares over it. Trying to over come it, I learned to swim, and I would wear the best flotation body vest when in boats.
How about you guys?

Bridges and overpasses leave me just short of a panic attack. Not a whole lot I can do except avoid them when possible and when not possible just take deep, cleansing breaths and keep moving. I'm usually not a complete wimp, but if I'm on an overpass and the traffic is stopped, it's all I can do to keep from getting out of the car and running for my life. Silly, I know.

Heights....and it was a "must" to paint a 12 foot high ceiling. But I did it and that's as high as I go.

Since I was 16 I've had a recurrent nightmare that I will be driving a white car and lose control on a Cliff road and go over the side. I can see myself lying across the steering wheel in my dream clearly dead!.

I have never ever bought a white car, and when I travel abroad I state categorically to the hire car companies that I will not accept a white vehicle, under any circumstances.

No, I haven't overcome my fear, I don't want to take the risk of it coming true by getting behind the wheel of a white car!!

Holly, I used to have nightmares about the same thing. They started in my late teen, and I still have then. Only instead of going over a cliff, I would have a wreck under a certain overpass. So, needless to say, I too made sure I never drove a white vehicle.

I don't like clowns either Carolyn, didn't as a child and still don't. Luckily I don't ever have to be around them. Same as dolls, never like them either.

I don't like some bridges, especially trestle type. However, when I lived in Pgh, some of the bridges were in such bad repair, could see the Allegheny & the Mon water through the holes, but still had to cross. In NM & CO, there are steam train excursions out in the wilds, they all go over high trestles, & nothing could get me on one of them!
