I said I wasn't interested in Oppenheimer, Best Picture, but it's on Peacock and the trailer helped to change my mind. It's got a really good cast and the lead actor Cillian Murphy has a very compelling look. I'll have to watch it in parts because it's freakin' three hours long! I also want to see American Fiction, the film Jeffrey Wright, a nominee, stars in. He's a brilliant actor and I heard the film is very funny.

My husband and I started to watch a film that was nominated called ā€œMotherā€ and it was probably the sickest most revolting movie I’ve ever seen. Needless to say, we didn’t watch it.
I highly recommend NOT watching it
I never even heard of it Patty! But thank you for the warning.

I always try to guess the winners in the six main categories. This year I got 3 which is about one more than usual. It's getting that I don't recognize the nominees names anymore. And I don't go to movies, so it's a blind guess all around.

Streamed it. I didn’t consider it funny. I found the repeated accusations of communism directed at Oppenheimer to be very annoying. Quit watching before it was over.

I actually watched Barbie at the theater just to see what all the hype was about and I left early because I had errands to do. I knew what the underlying message was, and the visuals were great but I found it silly. I also watched American Fiction and it was fantastic! Jeffrey Wright is great in everything I've seen him in. (Westworld also comes to mind.)

I would still like to see Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon but they are both so long. I don't have that many hours to give up in my day.

I guess "Music Man," Movie and Play was what I thought was great entertainment.
The rest is OK I guess. .... ... .. .

Well it isn't supposed to be funny, is it? I didn't see any comedy parts in the trailer.

I can not understand all the hype about Barbie. Nothing in the trailers I've seen made me want to waste time watching it, not even when it comes to streaming. And that Ken song...why was that up for an Oscar?! I agree about Jeffrey Wright, though even he, nor Anthony Hopkins or that cute James Marsden could make me watch more than a couple of episodes of Westworld. Just didn't grab me. A good friend was really into it and she recommended it to me. I first saw Jeffrey Wright in Lackawanna Blues a couple of decades ago, during which I recognized him as an exceptional talent. Great cast in that movie. Lackawanna Blues (film) - Wikipedia

@RadishRose I had mentioned this a couple of other threads. I have ADD and rarekt watch anything that's 44 minutes long (the ad free length of an hour show), in one sitting. I usually stop after 23 - 26 minutes. I may stop watching TV or even go on to watch something else and come back to that show later. I usually watch movies for a little bit longer but also break them up into manageable segments, so that I wind up watching them like a weekly series. :D Crazy, I know, but it works for me.
