Having a "senior moment" with marking pen

But they will dry out anyway. Especially if they've been in a box that wasn't sealed in air-tight plastic.

Air got in there and dried up the ink in the felt. If you can shine a light down onto the well tip, you might see the dry felt up in there.

Or take one apart. Use a hammer of you gotta.

Well then I agree with whomever suggested trying that.
Even if dried out, might/should be able to expose a felt tip
In fact, it appears this area slides back into the barrel when tip is held and pressed

IF the area indicated does slide back into the barrel ... but nothing happens
THEN hold the tip and press the tip area back into the barrel AND see if pressing/turning on the end of the pen clicks

Thinking maybe the tip is a lock on the felt when not pressed and won't allow advancing the felt
BUT if the tip is press into the barrel, felt will advance when the end of the pen is pressed/turned

... maybe ...

Press tip into barrel ...

And Click by pressing/turning the end of the pen ...

Assuming that is a felt tip marker rather than a crayon type or some other type marker

I've pressed and clicked about everything with these permanent markers and nothing exposes the felt tip.
