Having back spasms in whole back?

I know what aggravates my condition and causes pain.
I have one of those molded plastic chairs like the kind the used to stack up on the sidewalk in front of discount stores.
Hard to get out of an easy chair because I sink down in them.
I try not to sit too long and stand up and walk around.
Then when sitting and standing tires me out I hit the bed for an awhile.
Have trouble with an arm or leg trying to go to sleep and when that happens that limb hurts until it wakes up again.
Main thing is that I am wearing the back brace more and having less pain so I don’t have to use as much pain killers.

The exercise that has helped me so far is while sitting up straight bring your foot up across your other leg above the knee.
Then grab your knee and pull it towards the chest while leaning forward.
When you feel those muscles stretch hold it like that for about 40 seconds.

My husband and I do that exercise daily! It really does help with various back issues. DH and I get sciatica.

I hope you feel much better soon!!!

@GP44 You have my sympathy! Been there, done that. It took a couple of months to get past it but even now, I must be very careful not to do too much or push too hard. Six months after the last attack, when I feel that soreness, I take 600 mg ibuprofen, twice a day for a couple of days to lessen the inflammation. Muscle relaxants did not work for the pain and I do not like the brain fog. Lidocaine gives me heart irregularities. I also used capsaicin patches and balms, derived from peppers. It was somewhat soothing.

Physical therapy helped immensely. I continue to do those exercises at home, a couple of which are mentioned in this thread. The back brace did seem to help but the physical therapist said not to wear it all the time because it will tend to weaken the muscles.

I hope you feel better soon!
