Having cataract surgery today.

How is your eye doing today, any concerns or is it healing well? Hope you feel good and have had no discomfort. 🌷
All is well! Thanks for asking. I love your "I stand with Ukraine.". My husbands Mom was 100% Ukrainian. From the first day of the Russian invasion we have flown a Ukrainian flag in our yard. Nearby our American flag.

Thanks. It is amazing how quickly it seems to heal, I was thinking raw and sore, but nowhere near that. I'm really looking forward to hearing about your final result after your eyes are completely healed. It's great these surgeries are available and so successful for many. Many years ago my mother in law had her eye done, she hated it, complained about her vision in that eye and refused to get the other one done. I think she went in expecting failure, but I guess it's possible they did a bad job, hard to say.
I think that there truly were a lot more people, years ago, who did have complications from cataract surgery, but I am told it is much less often, now, and that does seem to be true.

I am thinking of you today, having your second one, and I hope it goes as well as possible for you!

Thank you Kaila 💙 , the surgery went well again today, although I was as nervous as the first time. My vision is blurry, just logged on to check our emails. going to bed early again tonight. Tomorrow is a post-op exam appt. in the morning.

Very glad to see your update, @SeaBreeze
I definitely was thinking of you, today!
Will continue to hope for the best possible outcomes for you!

The day-after appointment is exhausting to get to, just because it's only one day later,
but I hope, hope, hope, for whatever is the best possible results for you, by another couple of weeks.

That is wonderful to hear, so happy for you! If all you need are reading glasses, that not bad at all. 💙

I had my first eye done yesterday around 1PM, so we were kinda connected :). The surgery went well and the surgeon today at the post op said the eye looks good. I'm trying to stay off the computer too much now, things are still a bit blurry. Next eye on the 29th.

Like you I was on a gurney with pillow under my knees, the procedure seemed to be over with quickly. Yesterday I didn't go on the computer at all, took a nap in the evening which is rare for me, wanted to rest the eye.

I have one bottle of drops, all three are combined together, so it's easier to take them. My husband has been putting them in for me. The eye patch for night is hard clear plastic, taped to my face. It stayed in place all night, and I tried to sleep on the side with the good eye, but I went back and forth.

I also have macular degeneration, so I know I will need more than reading glasses. Likely computer glasses and maybe even distance glasses. For the first time ever, I failed the dmv eye exam and could not renew my license until I was able to go back and pass that test. The doctor didn't think the results would be good enough to drive again, but at this point I'm more concerned for my vision than anything else.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, it made me feel much more positive...hugs. ☮️
So how are you doing today? All is well I hope. I had my one week check and final appt with the eye surgeon. I am very happy with the outcome and so is he. I hope you are healing well.

Very good your surgeries were successful and you're happy, that is the best! My surgery went well again yesterday, and today the surgeon at the post op said both eyes looked good. Until the end of April, I'll be using the eye drops.

My vision is much brighter and a bit more detailed. I'm using the mouse to enlarge the text here, because my old computer glasses just make things more blurry now. I'm very happy that I can respond to you with no glasses, just large text. My lenses were for distance, so this is a bit of a surprise.

In early May, the surgeon will give me an eye exam and prescribe glasses for me. He said he didn't know if my vision would be good enough to drive again, but he said we'll see how things go. The macular degeneration may hold me back, but it's okay, just having better vision overall is a nice feeling.

Thanks for sharing your experience, it made me feel more confident and hopeful. So glad we both have no regrets and better vision. 🧡

Thank you so much for thinking of me Kaila, and your kind words and best wishes my friend. 💙

You're right about the day after, neither my husband or I have been sleeping much lately, ready for another morning appointment. Plus my dog is having to be let out a couple of times a night because he is sickly and on Prednisone....another worry for us.

Will be good to get a bit of a break for the next month regarding my eye visits. So far so good with the results, I'm very pleased and relieved that there were no issues and the results are so good.

Glad you're done with it, SB and procedures were successful. Now, you too can see the fly sh!t in the pepper.

So glad it all went well for you too. I will need glasses for reading. Overall my vision is so much better. My eye exam for new glasses is mid April. My hubs goes in tomorrow to see if there's anything they can do for him. He doesn't have cataracts but has spots in both eyes that block his vision. He II s really hoping they can fix it. Take care.

Thank you. Sounds like your husband has floaters. I have a couple for years now, but they aren't very noticeable and don't affect my vision. I hope they can help him, wishing the best.

He has a lot of floaters, so do I. He also has a large blind spot in each eye. Our regular eye doc would really give him an explanation. She's a putz. So he's hoping my eye surgeon can figure out the problem.

Hi, it's been a while since I visited this thread, I have a follow up appointment near the end of September and may need to get Lasik to have some clouding removed from the lenses, not sure yet. Anyhoo, it made me think of this thread.

How is your husband doing, has he had any surgery to help with the blind spot? I hope his vision hasn't gotten any worse, and I hope yours is still okay also.

Wow! How timely! He just finished the second eye. His vision is 20\20 in one and the second one is still healing but is 20\25. He was also diagnosed with "Asteroid Hyalosis" which can account for some of the spots. He still has the floaters which doc said he would.

The blind spot in left eye was a "c" shape stationary but with improved sight he can see around it he says. The other is a dense blob of floaters that move and are still there and still very annoying. We are a hunting family and is right eye is his dominant shooting eye so its been pretty disappointing for him. But I promised we will spend some time at the range to see if we can retrain the eye and brain. Once the heat passes, that is. Thanks for asking.
